It has been a very intense 10 days in Calgary. For those who are not aware we experienced a massive flooding in the Calgary area, and throughout Alberta. A state of Emergency continues to exist in Calgary today on our Nations holiday CANADA DAY July 1st 2013.
There are not enough positive words in the English language
to express pride and respect of Calgarians and Canadians at large. Through their efforts and the efforts of the City machine, Calgary is almost ready for the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth...the Calgary Stampede!
Many in Calgary were ( or are ) without power. Whole neighborhoods have been condemned and thousands of citizens remain displaced. As we create this weeks opinion piece< Our sincere thoughts and good wishes are with all and the center of our thoughts and good wishes.
For 10 days we were officially offline, however our intrepid techies found a way to access from a laptop and wifi throught the city so we could update our news services and continue to provide valuable information which may be required to formulate opinions and bolster talking points around the cooler or breakfast table...or dare I say chat!
When an Emergency plan comes togetherThe Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) executed an almost flawless emergency disaster plan, with some very quick decisions made for the safety of citizens. Police - Fire - EMS and the employees at the City of Calgary along with the Mayor of Calgary ran on little sleep for days and were super stars..The Mayors leadership and attention to Social Media was a breath of fresh air. Information was quickly flowing through the Mayor and into households. He helped keep the city calm.
The Premier of our Province and the Prime Ministers Wife pitched in to help flood victims, donning wellies and old clothes they grabbed and tugged at torn walls and floors as they emptied flooded houses of their personal possessions, or possessions that may have survived the devestation. No press, no photo ops...just plain dirty work to help neighbors.
Thanks to EVERYONE who pitched in to bring Calgary back from the brink!

Thank you all for your concerned Emails!
As Mainstream media run out of excuses and blame for the mess the current President has made of the U.S. economy and respect around the world...they shed their festered skin to other news services who will feed their addiction of U.S. bashing and Terrorist propaganda. It is a sad day when a star of a once lively station is subject to working for Al Jazeera....or was it her career move?
Soledad O'Brien joins Al Jazeera three months after losing her job at CNN
-Impeachment of Obama:
Throughout Obama's illegitimate Presidency I have been fortunate to have recieved hundreds of links to thousands of open source documents which clearly cause serious concern to the possible American Constitutional challenge for Impeachment of a sitting President and all laws public and secret signed under his signature during executive privilege to be subject to judicial revue. From my sources I am told that Impeachment is already written and ready for service,the more serious issue are multifold;
- succession - Who shall be President pro-temp?
- Presidential Signature on Bills,Laws, executive orders - legitimacy of orders.
- Social unrest-civil discontent - Armed insurrection
- Enemy connections - thievery from within
Alleged Obama partner Reggie Love is in South Africa as is Obama?
According to high level sources "some" Internet organizations are claiming Obama was strung out on Coke the night of the Benghazi attack and was " entertaining". Those who pushed for the truth at Benghazi continue to press for information and each department pressed have resisted at all turns of law. The IRS scandal is so deep the Politicians risk falling into the abbis.
An economy which is on its last shallow breaths and Obama announces Billions of dollars in Aid to Africa.....backing ID laws to vote while claiming the same rules in the United States are racist.
Edward Snowden released this statement via WIKILEAKS:
One week ago I left Hong Kong after it became clear that my freedom and safety were under threat for revealing the truth. My continued liberty has been owed to the efforts of friends new and old, family, and others who I have never met and probably never will. I trusted them with my life and they returned that trust with a faith in me for which I will always be thankful.
On Thursday, President Obama declared before the world that he would not permit any diplomatic "wheeling and dealing" over my case. Yet now it is being reported that after promising not to do so, the President ordered his Vice President to pressure the leaders of nations from which I have requested protection to deny my asylum petitions.
This kind of deception from a world leader is not justice, and neither is the extralegal penalty of exile. These are the old, bad tools of political aggression. Their purpose is to frighten, not me, but those who would come after me.
For decades the United States of America have been one of the strongest defenders of the human right to seek asylum. Sadly, this right, laid out and voted for by the U.S. in Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is now being rejected by the current government of my country. The Obama administration has now adopted the strategy of using citizenship as a weapon. Although I am convicted of nothing, it has unilaterally revoked my passport, leaving me a stateless person. Without any judicial order, the administration now seeks to stop me exercising a basic right. A right that belongs to everybody. The right to seek asylum.
In the end the Obama administration is not afraid of whistleblowers like me, Bradley Manning or Thomas Drake. We are stateless, imprisoned, or powerless. No, the Obama administration is afraid of you. It is afraid of an informed, angry public demanding the constitutional government it was promised — and it should be.
I am unbowed in my convictions and impressed at the efforts taken by so many.
Edward Joseph Snowden
