Top adviser to Fox News supremo Roger Ailes is fired and escorted from the Fox News building
A top Fox News Channel executive who
is considered to the right hand man to Roger Ailes was physically
escorted from his office and fired after an investigation into financial
irregularities on Tuesday.
Brian Lewis, the executive VP of corporate communications was let go after he was found to be in breach of contract and had worked alongside Fox New Channel president Ailes since the network was founded 17 years ago.
While details about the allegations of financial wrong-doing were not available as of Tuesday, insiders said that it was difficult for Ailes to let Lewis go, such was the closeness of their relationship.
Lewis began work at Fox News headquarters in New York in 1996, six months before the powerful network launched to air and was made an executive VP in 2006.
'After an extensive internal investigation of Brian Lewis' conduct by Fox News, it was determined that he should be terminated for cause, specifically for issues relating to financial irregularities, as well as for multiple, material and significant breaches of his employment contract,' a company spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Weld County, the largest of several that have been seriously discussing breaking away to form their own state, joins three other counties in putting the question to its citizens. Several others are also considering referring the measure to voters or waiting to see if citizen initiatives show support for the idea.
The so-called 51st State Initiative is a result of rural Coloradans feeling abandoned by politicians in Denver. The last legislative session, which was controlled by Democratic majorities in both chambers, saw the passage of numerous controversial laws, many of which thumb their noses at rural values, commissioners in the plains counties have said.

Egypt considers banning Al Jazeera
Egyptian officials are assessing the legal status of the Al Jazeera Mubasher (Live) satellite channel, “accusing it of threatening stability and national security,” the Egypt Independent reported Wednesday. The Cabinet of Egypt, the nation’s chief governing body, also decided on Sunday to form a committee of independent public figures to document recent events in the war-torn country.
The meeting was called to review the efforts of the police and armed forces in maintaining security.
Since the military removed the Muslim Brotherhood’s MohammedMorsiseven weeks ago, his supporters have burned at least 44 churches and ransacked more than 20 other Christian institutions throughout Egypt, because of Christian support for the coup that overthrew them.
Egypt’s military has declared open season on Muslim Brotherhood protesters, killing more than 500.
Report: 'Bored' shooter of Australian baseball player appears to be a Crip
As two of the teens involved in the tragic shooting of Australian baseball player Chris Lane in Duncan, Okla., were charged with first-degree murder, a post at PJ Media said Tuesday one of the shooters appears to be a member of the "Crips," a predominantly black street gang.According to reports, the teens targeted Lane as he was jogging and shot him in the back out of boredom.
Bryan Preston said he "looked at the Facebook and Twitter feeds of James 'Lilbuggy' Edwards," one of the boys involved in the shooting, and found posts that "suggest strong interests in rap and gang culture, and enjoyment of violent behavior."
"In fact," Preston said, "new evidence says he’s a Crip."
Preston says that in the screen capture he found, one can "see Edwards request Lilkadda90 to post this photo on Facebook so he can tag it and make it his own wallpaper."
He continued to explain how Edwards' Twitter feed is filled with references to the gang.
The Herald-Sun reported that Edwards -- the youngest of the three involved in the shooting -- treated the murder as a joke.
South Carolina City Approves Plan To Exile Its Homeless
Many homeless people in Columbia, South Carolina are facing an arduous choice: vacate downtown or be arrested. That’s because last week, the Columbia City Council unanimously approved a new plan — the Emergency Homeless Response” — to remove homeless people from the downtown business district. Here’s how the initiative, which was spearheaded by Councilman Cameron Runyan, will work.
Police officers will now be assigned to patrol the city center and keep homeless people out. They will also be instructed to strictly enforce the city’s “quality of life” laws, including bans on loitering, public urination, and other violations. And just to ensure that no one slips through, the city will set up a hotline so local businesses and residents can report the presence of a homeless person to police.
In order to accommodate all the homeless people who will now be banned from downtown, the city will partner with a local charity to keep an emergency shelter on the outskirts of town open 24 hours a day. However, it’s unlikely the shelter, which can handle 240 guests, will be enough to handle the local homeless population, which numbers more than six times the available beds.
Homeless people can stay at the shelter, but they’re not permitted to walk off the premises. In fact, Columbia will even post a police officer on the road leading to the shelter to ensure that homeless people don’t walk towards downtown. If they want to leave, they need to set up an appointment and be shuttled by a van.
In other words, the 1,518 homeless people in the Columbia-area now have a choice: get arrested downtown or be confined to a far-away shelter that you can’t readily leave. Jail or pseudo-jail.
UPS to drop 15,000 spouses from insurance, cites Obamacare
United Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News. The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act's effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.
Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees.
According to Kaiser, UPS (NYSE: UPS) told white-collar workers two months ago that 15,000 working spouses eligible for coverage by their own employers would be excluded from the UPS plan in 2014.
UPS expects the move, which applies to non-union U.S. workers only, to save about $60 million a year, company spokesman Andy McGowan said.
The health law requires large employers to cover employees and dependent children, but not spouses or domestic partners, Kaiser adds.
Kaiser said the Obama administration would not respond directly to UPS' statements, but said that employer coverage increased when Massachusetts implemented its own version of the health overhaul.
Movement to impeach Obama snowballing
'Energy is crazy high' as groups explode in all 50 states
WASHINGTON – The “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” movement is suddenly sweeping the nation.WND first reported on the booming movement in July, and now the group claims it has mushroomed to 40,000 members across America to become “the largest grassroots movement in the nation” in the few weeks since it was launched in June.
The group’s national website has links to Facebook pages of groups in all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C.
And it is on those Facebook pages that organizers recruit and inform, while fellow members share their experiences and bond, as the group’s Internet-age version of grassroots democracy takes root and flourishes in cyberspace and on the streets.
The clout of “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” is growing so fast, Press Secretary Jennifer Hitt told WND, “We would like to get to the point we can help fund a 2016 candidate. The movement started with the main Facebook page, grew to the state Facebook pages, and now we are trying to get most people to register on our state forums on the website, Overpasses.org.”
Hitt said the buzz isn’t limited to one area: “It’s nationwide. The energy is crazy high.”

Many chanted “Obama, Obama, don’t you care? Christian blood is everywhere,” and “Pray for Egypt” while waiving Egyptian flags.
Others, like Anour Fares, held homemade signs with messages like “We are against Muslim Brotherhood.”
Amany Shahata, who has lived in the United States for 16 years, said she feared for Christians living in Egypt, whose churches had been burned down in recent days. She and other protesters blamed the Muslim Brotherhood.
“What is terrorism, but being afraid to go out of your house because someone will attack you,” she said. “… We can build churches anywhere but in our own country.”
At one point demonstrators lined both sides of First Avenue and called out slogans as cars went by. They shouted “eid wahda,” an Egyptian phrase that translates as “one hand,” meaning that the Egyptian people, both Christians and Muslims, were united with the army against terrorism, which they blamed on the Muslim Brotherhood.
Abram Thabet said that he hopes the Obama administration will stand by the Egyptian government. He said that he fled Cairo two years ago with his family because he feared persecution.
Woman Uses 50 Identities to Collect Unemployment in 8 States
An Ohio woman used 50 stolen identities to collect unemployment benefits in eight states, according to the inspector general (IG) of the Social Security Administration.
Audrey Costar, 46, was sentenced to four years in federal prison for stealing identities over the internet and collecting $78,674 in fraudulent unemployment benefits.
Using 50 fake identities, Costar collected benefits from Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Utah between February 2009 and December 2012. She was also on unemployment through her own name at the time.
“Costar used some of the identities to open bank accounts or cash value cards over the Internet to which the unlawful unemployment benefits would be deposited,” the IG said. “After the payments were made, Costar would withdraw the payments using an automated teller machine and used the money for her own benefit.”
“When one state cut [Costar] off, she would move to another and start again,” the Columbus Dispatch reported.
Egyptian Army warns Obama: “Supporting terrorism in Egypt is OUR red line”
According to a report titled “Sisi to Pentagon: We will not turn back, sovereignty is a red line,” published in Watan newspaper, Egyptian Maj. Gen. Muhammad al-’Assar has just issued a strongly worded letter to the Pentagon, on behalf of the Egyptian military council, saying, among other things, “We will not retreat from fighting terrorism; the military does not run, for the [Egyptian] republic has leadership, and our message is clear: we will not allow red lines to be crossed.”
Raymond Ibrahim Military sources reportedly told Watan news that contact with the Obama Regime has completely ceased, though it remains open with the Pentagon, “which informed the Egyptian side of its fears concerning [Egypt's] closeness to Russia.
Regarding U.S. president Barrack Obama’s cancelation of joint military exercises with Egypt, criticism of the military’s crackdown on the Brotherhood, and threats of cutting U.S. aid to Egypt, Watanreported military sources as saying, “The American decision will not influence the course drawn by popular will” — a reference to the fact that the overwhelming majority of Egyptians reject Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood — and that “the military does not accept any external dictates and will not permit any nation to support terrorism in Egypt,” a reference to the fact that U.S. support for the Brotherhood is support for terrorism.
Egypt Launches Operation Desert Storm Against Muslim Brotherhood
While more than a few nations in the Muslim World slide further towards Islamism, Egypt is the other side of the coin. Case in point: Launching their own Operation Desert Storm, the Egyptian military is deploying tens of thousands of troops to include their highly trained Special Forces (SF) units in an all out assault on the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula, as reported by Egypt Independent on July 28, 2013 and Russia Today on July 27, 2013Seeking to block, isolate then wipe out Jihadists in Northern and Central Sinai, the military forces are blocking all the roads, bridges and tunnels leading from the embattled areas to other Egyptian provinces.
The Cairo government state there are approximately 500 heavily armed extremists in the area, as well as the very real possibility they may use the age-old terrorist tactic of forcing local civilians to act as their own human shields.
Egypt: Coptic church cancels Sunday mass for 1st time in 1,600 years
Other churches also call off prayer services amid growing violence against Christians since clearing of pro-Morsi sit-ins
Amid escalating violence against Egypt’s Copts, churches in Minya, located in upper Egypt, cancelled Sunday Mass for the first time in 1,600 years. Other churches in Minya also didn’t hold prayer services.
“We did not hold prayers in the monastery on Sunday for the first time in 1,600 years,” Priest Selwanes Lotfy of the Virgin Mary and Priest Ibram Monastery in Degla, just south of Minya, told the al-Masry al-Youm daily.
He said supporters of ousted president Mohammed Morsi destroyed the monastery, which includes three churches, one of which is an archaeological site. “One of the extremists wrote on the monastery’s wall, ‘donate [this] to the martyrs’ mosque,’” Lotfy added.
Jesse Jackson Jr. to Grab $8,700 Per Month in Disability, Plus Pension In Prison
Convicted Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) is scheduled to receive $8,700 per month in government disability pay, as well as a partial federal pension of $45,000.
That generous $8,700 in disability comes thanks to Jackson’s sudden development of a “mood disorder” as the federal government began looking to indict him. Jackson, who was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, had no history of mental illness during his prior 17 years in Congress. Rev. Jesse Jackson has defended his son’s claims of mental illness, stating to the court, “This time a year ago I thought we may have lost him.”
