Holder travel tab: $4.2m total, $697,525 personal, including $95,184 to Martha's Vineyard

Attorney General Eric Holder has racked up more than $4.2 million in travel expenses over four years, including $697,525 in taxpayer-provided personal trips to resort areas like Martha's Vineyard and Atlantic City, according to documents provided to the watchdog group Judicial Watch.
The records from Justice and provided to Secrets show that Holder, who is required to travel on government aircraft because of security, submitted bills of $16,452.50 to speak at Al Sharpton's National Action Network on New York in April 2011, $38,108.18 in expenses to address the pro-immigration reform group LULAC in June 2012, and $38,108.18 to speak to another pro-immigration group, La Raza, in Las Vegas in July 2012.
What's more, Judicial Watch revealed an April trip to a U.S.-Mexico Arms Trafficking Strategy Meeting, an issue the attorney general said he wasn't involved in.
Judicial Watch said that the documents were a response to an August 2012 Freedom of Information Act request. The group said that the expenses were too high.
Overall, Judicial Watch said the documents detailed 213 trips out of Washington between March 27, 2009 and August 24, 2012, for a price of $4,263,704.01. It is not uncommon for an attorney general to travel often.
The documents found that 31 of the trips were personal, for a total cost of $697,525.20. Included were two trips to Martha's Vineyard for $95,184.50, one to Atlantic City in September 2010 for $7,408. The Martha's Vineyard tab calculated by Judicial Watch doesn't include a third "combined business and personal" trip, including a business stop in Milwaukee, last August at a cost of $60,273.15.
In their release, Judicial Watch said that Holder typically travels in a Gulfstream V.

JERUSALEM – The current al-Qaida terrorist plot against U.S. and Western targets is a direct result of U.S.-supported efforts currently underway to purge al-Qaida affiliates from the ranks of the Syrian rebels, according to informed Middle Eastern security sources.
The sources have specific knowledge of the terrorist threat that has prompted a worldwide travel alert and the closure of 22 U.S. embassies.

Those sources said the U.S. has been working with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf states to support a U.S.-armed Free Syria Army effort to cleanse al-Qaida affiliates from among the rebel ranks, including al-Nusra and other groups.
For months now the U.S. has reportedly been providing lethal support to the Syrian rebels amid widespread fears the Western weapons could fall into the hands of al-Qaida organizations known to work alongside the Free Syria Army.
Now with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad closing in on the insurgency targeting his regime, U.S. allies in the Gulf and throughout the Middle East are deeply concerned the freshly armed al-Qaida groups could turn their efforts from Assad to destabilizing the moderate Arab regimes.
To that affect, according to the Middle Eastern security sources, the U.S. has been heavily aiding the Free Syrian Army in its efforts to disarm or eliminate the al-Qaida groups fighting as Syrian rebels.
The Middle Eastern security sources said the current al-Qaida plot is an attempt to dissuade the U.S. from further supporting those disarming efforts.

Dr. Orly Taitz, Esquire is a dentist and attorney. She is also the Founder of Defend Our Freedoms Foundation. Over the last four years, Taitz has become one of the active ‘birthers’ in the nation, filing a number of lawsuits and request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. One of the cases she filed was to compel Barack Obama to produce his registration record at Occidental College. The case is Taitz v. Obama, Feinstein, Emken and is now being appealed in the Fourth District Court of Appeals in the Superior Court of California. The case number is G047746 and the Superior Court case number is 30-2012-00582135. The original case claimed that there was over 100 pages of documentation proving that Barack Obama was indeed a citizen of Indonesia at the time of his college registration at Occidental College and that he used forged and fraudulent means to secure IDs. Superior Court Judge Charles Marginis ruled in favor of Occidental College and denied the motion to force the production of Obama’s college registration forms. The appeal was re-instated by the Chief Judge of the Fourth District Court of Appeal Kathleen O’Leary. When the case was appealed, all parties were given 15 days to file their Appellee’s brief. Taitz filed her brief with the court in the allotted time. When Obama, Feinstein and Emken failed to file their briefs, they were given an additional 15 days and once again they failed to file their Appellee’s brief. In response the failure of the Appellees, Taitz filed a notice with the court that contained a notice of the failure of the Appellees to file their briefs within the allotted time frame. She also submitted additional information with the court stating that she was recently approached by a woman who claimed to work for the Higher Education Services Corporation in Albany, New York. The whistle-blower told Taitz that she had personally seen and reviewed Barack Obama’s financial aid information at Occidental College. That information listed the financial aid he received due to the fact that he was a foreign student and a citizen of Indonesia.

6 black 'teens' beat white man to death -- no hate crime

Authorities say the Cincinnati-area man who was badly beaten by six teens almost a year ago in a Cincinnati suburb has died.
Pat Mahaney, 46, died yesterday in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, said Julie Wilson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office.
The six teens, all 13 or 14, injured Mahaney in August and told police they did it because they were bored and looking for something to do.
Wilson said Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters has asked the coroner for an autopsy.
Three of the youths have pleaded guilty to felonious assault.
Wilson would not elaborate on whether the office will seek additional charges against the teens. She said the office will describe its “next steps, if any,” after the coroner issues a report. Read more via The Columbia Dispatch...

(Aug. 8, 2013) — An Amicus Curiae brief filed by Atty. Albert W.L. Moore, Jr. in an eligibility case now before the Alabama Supreme Court contends that the man known as “Barack Hussein Obama II” became an Indonesian citizen during his youth, traveled on an Indonesian passport, and rejected U.S. citizenship “by refraining from registration with the Selective Service System.”

Further, the brief claims that Obama’s biological parents are not those he has publicly identified, Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Hussein Obama II.

Moore states that “Obama” has used the alias “Barry Soetoro,” which has been confirmed by the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse‘s investigation of Obama’s long-form birth certificate posted on the White House website. The image, as well as documents mailed to FOIA requesters purported to be Obama’s Selective Service registration form, have been declared “computer-generated forgeries” by the investigators.

The birth certificate forgery is said to have been created by “trusted individuals.” The posse has brought its evidence to members of Congress, three of whom have stated that they believe the matter requires further inquiry.

The brief states that when Obama arrived alone in the United States from Indonesia in 1971, he was “referred…to Catholic Charities of Connecticut.” Last year, The Post & Email contacted Catholic Charities of Connecticut and was told that overseas refugee services did not commence there until the 1980s. However, Moore’s brief does not state that Obama was processed as a refugee.

The Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, Gen. Mark A. Welsh, completed a secretive week-long visit to Israel in recent days, ahead of the expected arrival of the Chairman of the Joints Chief of Staff, Martin Dempsey, due here on Monday.
News of Welsh's arrival was broken by the Walla news agency and independently confirmed by The Jerusalem Post, though few details about his visit are available.
Welsh arrived as a guest of Israel Air Force chief Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel.
According to Walla, the visit was kept secret due to an American request for confidentiality, in light of regional tensions and against the background of Israeli threats to strike Iran if it continues developing its nuclear program.
The report added that the visit, Welsh's first to Israel, was highly productive and produced "new channels of communications."
