US and Allied Warships off the Syrian Coastline: Naval Deployment Was Decided “Before” the August 21 Chemical Weapons Attack
A massive US and allied naval deployment is occurring in the Eastern Mediterranean off Syria’s coastline as well as in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. While this display of military might may not be part of an immediate attack plan on Syria, it is creating an atmosphere of fear and panic within Syria.
The US Navy has deployed the USS San Antonio, an amphibious transport ship to the Eastern Mediterranean. The San Antonio is joining five US destroyers which “are already in place for possible missile strikes on Syria, a defense official said Sunday.”
The USS San Antonio, with several helicopters and hundreds of Marines on board, is “on station in the Eastern Mediterranean” but “has received no specific tasking,” said the defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. US Navy deploys five warships, one amphibious ship to Mediterranean for SyriaWhile the USS San Antonio has amphibious landing equipment, which can be used to land some six thousand sailors and marines, “no boots on the ground”, however, remains the official motto.
So why then has the US deployed its most advanced amphibious landing ship? The reports suggest that this is routine and there are no attack plans:
“No amphibious landing is in the works, however, as President Barack Obama has ruled out any “boots on the ground” (Ibid)
Clinton OKs Putin offer to confiscate Syria’s chemical weapons
Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday gave qualified support to a Russian plan to place Syria’s chemical weapons under international control as a way of averting U.S. military strikes.“If the regime immediately surrendered its stockpiles to international control … that would be an important step,” Mrs. Clinton said at the White House after a meeting with President Obama. “But this cannot be another excuse for delay or obstruction.”
She said the Syrian situation was “fluid,” given Russia’s proposal earlier in the day. And she added that Russia, which has blocked international sanctions against Syria, must “support the international community’s efforts sincerely or be held to account.”
“This is about protecting the Syrian people and our friends in the region,” she said. “The world will have to deal with this threat as swiftly and comprehensively as possible.”
Mrs. Clinton, who left her post earlier this year, had been at the White House to participate in an event about international wildlife trafficking.
Kerry: We're Talking About An "Unbelievably Small" Effort In Syria
SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY: Now, I believe that the aftermath of the Iraq experience and Afghanistan leave a lot of people saying, "We don’t want to see our young people coming back in a body bag," and so forth. But that’s not what we’re talking about. And what we have to do is make clear to people that this is – we’re not talking about war. We’re not going to war. We will not have people at risk in that way. We will be able to hold Bashar Assad accountable without engaging in troops on the ground or any other prolonged kind of effort in a very limited, very targeted, very short-term effort that degrades his capacity to deliver chemical weapons without assuming responsibility for Syria’s civil war. That is exactly what we’re talking about doing – unbelievably small, limited kind of effort.
White House Preparing for ‘‘Mother of All Non-Responses’’ For 9/11 Anniversary Attacks
(WASHINGTON) —Terrorists around the world beware...! If you’re thinking you can get away with another 9/11 anniversary attacks like the one that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi last year…well, keep right on thinking that.
The Obama Administration is not only keeping up the same vigilance it did last year in protecting American officials abroad on September 11th, but is even ramping up its vigilance, promising anyone who is planning on harming U.S. officials “the mother of all non-responses.” The clear and foreboding message from the White House came two days before the 12th anniversary terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and one year since the “anniversary” attack against the American Conciliate in Benghazi, Libya.
Media blackout: Syrian rebels arrested with sarin gas in Turkey
As President Obama continues to push for a military strike against the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad, based on his insistence that Syrian forces has used chemical weapons on "women and children," evidence to the contrary continues to mount.Though this nation's mainstream press will not cover any incident which makes Obama appear foolish and dishonest, the foreign press does not operate under any such restrictions.
In June, Turkish Weekly reported on the apprehension of a group of Syrian rebels traveling near the Syria-Turkey border.
The rebels were caught with a "2kg cylinder" of sarin nerve gas.
Assad: 'Expect everything' in response to attack
WASHINGTON (AP) — Syrian President Bashar Assad is warning the U.S. of repercussions if it launches a military strike against him. "You should expect everything," Assad said in an interview, while denying that his troops used chemical weapons. "If you strike somewhere, you have to expect the repercussions somewhere else," he said.In London, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was unmoved by Assad's denial, saying he would be confident going into any courtroom with the evidence gathered by the United States that Syria's government used chemical weapons against its people.
"What does he offer?" Kerry asked of Assad. "Words that are contradicted by fact."
At the White House, National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan said, "It doesn't surprise us that someone who would kill thousands of his own people, including hundreds of children with poison gas, would also lie about it."
As the administration stokes its arguments for a limited military strike, President Barack Obama plans an intense round of TV interviews Monday evening and Kerry is returning to Washington from his trip seeking international support. The United States, citing intelligence reports, says the lethal nerve agent sarin was used in an Aug. 21 attack outside Damascus, and that 1,429 people died, including 426 children.
Obama administration officials plan more classified briefings on Capitol Hill. And White House national security adviser Susan Rice is scheduled for a Washington think tank speech timed to the public relations blitz aimed at assuring Americans the administration isn't contemplating another Iraq-Afghanistan style commitment.
DC denies permit for 9/11 bikers; Planners move ahead anyway!
Washington DC Denied Permit For "2 Million Biker Ride In DC"
but gave "Million Muslim March"
Washington DC has DENIED our permit for a no-stop ride through Washington DC. We find this regretful for the residents and businesses of that great city, and humbly offer our apologies. What could have been a one or two hour ride through will now likely be an all day event. We will be obeying all laws. We will be stopping at all stoplights, stop signs, and yielding to all pedestrians.PLAN B: Participants are moving forward.
RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES OF WASHINGTON DC: On behalf of the National “2 Million Bikers to DC” Team, please accept our sincere apologies. We did the right thing and went through the proper channels to secure a no-stop permit to ride through your great city. We wanted to ride an established route, which would have taken us past the Viet Nam Memorial to the Lincoln Memorial, across the bridge into Virginia, and that’s it! We would have been completely out of Washington DC, and your city would have been back to normal.
The National Team fully expected our permit to be rejected, and have already drafted a Plan-B.
6 Ways That Romney Was Right All Along
Hindsight can be just as haunting as it is rewarding. Mitt Romney supporters are probably experiencing both of these feelings right now, and those who didn’t support him are probably kicking themselves. Less than one year after the Republican candidate was defeated by President Obama, many of Romney’s predictions are coming true. Most notably, Russia has proved to be not so friendly, and the U.S. government was not able to save Detroit with bail outs.Romney’s former finance director Spencer Zwick described this as a bittersweet vindication for Romney, “There’s no way to say, ‘OK, well, I didn’t win the presidency but I’m going to continue to fight.’ There’s no fighting. There’s no platform to do that. Fifty million Americans voted for the guy and yet it’s all for nothing.”
The votes were cast, and we must live with our decision for the next 3 years. All that Romney and his supporters can hope for is that voters have learned a lesson and will apply it in the future.
Israeli report maps Assad's chemical arsenal
Report by IDC counter-terrorist think-tank presents inventory of Syria's chemical munitions production, storage facilities, argues Syrian regime has been stockpiling since 1980s, arms could reach Hezbollah, Palestinians.
New report reveals Syria is the owner of one of the world's largest chemical stockpiles.
The report, presented Monday by the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya's International Institute for Counter-Terrorism, states that as of June 2013, Syrian President Bashar Assad holds one of the world's largest caches of mustard gas, sarin and the lethal nerve gas VX.
The institute's report described the manner in which Assad attained his impressive inventory as well as warning of the possibility the unconventional munitions could fall into the hands of terrorist groups active in Syria.
By the 1980s, the report stated, the Syrian regime had begun storing chemical stockpiles in 50 different towns throughout the country. In case the army is in need of the arsenal, aerial bombs, artillery shells and ballistic missiles and rockets have already been prepared in advance.
The sarin and VX gases, according to the report, is manufactured in five different locations throughout Syria: The main facility in Al-Safir, and the others in Homs, Latakia, Hama and Palmyra. The poisonous gas is transferred to storage facilities at Al Furqus, Dumayr, Khan Abu Shamat as well as in the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center in Damascus.
Different reports show that the Damascus center, which is under Assad's direct control, also houses biological weapons. The chemical arms are held by the Syrian regime or by militias loyal to it. In the areas neighboring major cities, in which the military situation is constantly changing as a result of battles between rebels and government forces, the West is uncertain who controls these storage facilities.
Obama hits an all time low.
A recent CNN poll shows that Obama’s approval rating on foreign policy has hit an all time low. The poll shows that only three in ten people approve of how Obama his handling foreign policy. The polls are not shocking. I don’t believe that Obama has shown in competence in his handling of foreign affairs. His response to the Syrian conflict has been proof of this. The president is merely looking for another war to enter, and another way to fuel the military industrial complex that funds our government.
Americans are quickly becoming aware that our president has not done anything to better our lives during his term. All he has done is systematically attempt to strip away our rights, while bombing the middle east.
He has done nothing to strengthen our economy, security, or individual rights. His approval rating is a clear indicator of how ineffective his term in office has been, and overall the presidents approval rating stands as 45%. How a man becomes president when over half the country thinks he is doing a poor job remains a mystery to me.
The most shocking polling number in the poll was the president’s approval rating in congress. 78% of our congressmen believe that the Obama administration is doing an ineffective job. Hopefully this mistrust in our president will effect how they vote on the Syrian conflict. Saying no to the president may give some power back to the people, and show him how we feel about him and his administration.
2016 could not come soon enough. As a people we need to realize that our country can not take another president like Barack Obama. If an Obama clone is elected again we going to lose more rights, be in more wars, and have a worse economy.
Obama Refused to Let Israel Take out Iran's Nuclear Facilities when they had the chance
President Barack Obama refused to let Israel strike Iran last year despite the Israeli prime minister’s willingness to sign off on such an attack, according to statements made by a former top Israeli military leader earlier this week.
Giora Eiland, a former national security adviser to the Israeli government and a retired Major General in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), told the Israeli press that Obama “vetoed” the strike, which was planned to take place at the height of the 2012 election cycle.-
