Underground stories

Charlie Rangel cheats on taxes again! Fails to disclose $200,000 in funds from Harlem political club

Forget Charlie Rangel’s 11 ethics violations for tax cheating three years ago. Chuckles Rangel and his partner in crime Democrat Inez Dickens ‘allegedly’ failed to disclose $200,000 in funds for their Harlem political club they have had since 1999. As usual, these two corrupt Democrats will probably get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

The club, whose Facebook page touts members such as former Gov. David Paterson and former Mayor David Dinkins, helped Rangel’s congressional re-election campaign last year.
Dickens, 64, who chairs the council’s Ethics Committee and is vying to become the next council speaker, has racked up more than $265,000 in unpaid code violations, property taxes and water bills on four decrepit apartment buildings, city records show.
The building that houses the club, 2155 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., and four floors of apartments above it, has 23 open violations.

100 million dollar trip to Africa is not enough. The Obama’s head to Asia for Vacation.

President Obama will again pivot toward Asia next month with a week-long trip to Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia and the Philippines, the White House announced Friday.
Obama will be away Oct. 6-12 for a trip that the White House describes as “part of his ongoing commitment to increase U.S. political, economic and security engagement with the Asia Pacific.”
He’ll start the trip in Bali, to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders meeting. He missed last year’s summit in Russia, which came weeks before the presidential election. Depending on the status of Syria talks, the summit could include a showdown between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who’s also expected to attend. Obama will also hold a bilateral meeting with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Muslim Brotherhood Operative, Mohamed Elibiary, gets Homeland Security promotion

Muslim Brotherhood operatives have direct access to the White House. Arif Alikhan, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for policy development; Mohammed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council; Rashad Hussain, the U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference; Salam al-Marayati, co-founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC); Imam Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); and Eboo Patel, a member of President Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.
Despite exposing these Muslim Brotherhood operatives at Atlas as early as 2010 here (even an Egyptian magazine did a bombshell article on Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the Obama administration in January 2013 as well), the Obama administration continued to name silver tongued stealth jihadists to key positions.
Back in 2011, Obama appointee, Homeland Security Advisory Council member and Muslim Brotherhood supporter, Mohamed Elibiary, was given access to a sensitive database of state and local intelligence reports, and then allegedly shopped some of those materials to a media outlet for one. Who else? We do not know.
Instead of being fired at the time, Elibiary was just given ..... a promotion.

Video Reveals Key Iranian Role In Syrian Civil War

Remarkable footage includes insight into daily routine of Iranian fighters in Syria, includes interview with Iranian commander.

Remarkable footage has emerged of Iranian military forces on the ground in Syria, fighting alongside pro-government militias.
Shia Iran is the Assad regime’s closest ally, along with the Hezbollah terrorist group, and Iranian support is nothing new. But whilst Hezbollah has officially acknowledged that its fighters are actively engaged in battle on behalf of the Assad regime, Iranian officials always maintained that any Iranian presence in Syria and support for the Assad regime was limited to logistical support and “military advisers,” away from the front lines.
But footage had emerged in the past few days indicating that Iranian involvement goes far further, and appears to corroborate rebel claims that soldiers from the Iranian army and Revolutionary Guards are present on the ground, and playing a direct role in the fighting.
The first piece of footage was aired by the BBC on Friday, and showed armed men on the ground, speaking fluent Farsi (Persian), directing military operations and engaging in battle. Experts branded it the “most significant evidence yet” that Iranian forces were playing a direct role in fighting Syrian rebels.
But an even more remarkable clip has been shown by the Dutch Nieuswsuur TV channel, which gives an in-depth glimpse into the activities of Iranian troops on the ground in some of Syria’s front-lines, as they train, coordinate and fight alongside pro-government militias.
The footage includes a one-on-one interview with a local Iranian commander, in which he explains why in his view Iranian forces have been more effective at commanding “civilian militias” than the Syrian army itself. Those militias were set up to supplement the increasingly overstretched Syrian army  in its battle against rebel forces.
He criticizes the Syrian military for its reliance on “force” to enforce its orders, and contrasts it with the more “respectful” approach taken by the Iranian commanders - an approach he says has made them more popular among the militias than the Syrian army.
The film also shows how Iranian soldiers are winning hearts and minds among local civilians: handing out sweets to children and making contact with the local population – in contrast to the Syrian military’s conduct.

Obama Caves: Agrees To Leave 'Threat Of Force' Out Of UN Resolution If Assad Fails To Comply

Journalists present at a close-door briefing report that Barack Obama won’t insist that a UN  resolution on Syria’s surrender of chemical weapons include a threat of military force if Assad fails to comply.
According to Politico, reports sourced to “senior administration officials” began emerging moments after the journalists were seen coming out of the White House session.
Obama will not insist on UN threat of force to ensure that Syria lives up to chemical weapons deal but will seek other consequences, officials said,” New York Times reporter Peter Baker said on Twitter. CNN and NBC carried similar reports, with the Los Angeles Times attributing the news specifically to “a background briefing.”
According to the reporters, Obama aides did say that Obama would retain the right to consider military action even if such language isn’t in the UN agreement.(Yeah, I bet that has Assad once again shaking in his boots.]
Incredible. Here’s the supposed Leader of the Free World, morphing from threatening an imminent strike against Assad, to backing down based on a promise [a wing and a prayer] from a former KGB agent, to failing to secure a threat of force for Syrian non-compliance in a United Nations [of all organizations] resolution – all in little more than a week.

India Tests Nuclear-Capable Missile That Can Reach Beijing And Much Of Europe

BHUBANESWAR, India, Sept 12 (Reuters) - India successfully test-fired for a second time a nuclear-capable missile on Sunday that can reach Beijing and much of Europe, bringing a step closer production of a weapon designed to strengthen its nuclear deterrent.
"The test was successful," said Ravi Kumar Gupta, spokesman for the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). "It hit the target in a predefined trajectory. It met all the mission objectives"
A video distributed by the DRDO showed the Agni-V rocket blasting off from a forest clearing on an island off India's east coast state of Odisha.
India is trying to keep up with China's growing military strength and wants to have a viable deterrent against its larger nuclear-armed neighbour.

Iran's Rouhani may meet Obama at UN after American president reaches out

An exchange of letters between Barack Obama and the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, has set the stage for a possible meeting between the two men at the UN next week in what would be the first face-to-face encounter between a US and Iranian leader since Iran's 1979 revolution.
Britain's foreign secretary, William Hague, is also due to meet his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the UN general assembly meeting in New York, adding to guarded optimism that the June election of Rouhani, a Glasgow-educated moderate, and his appointment of a largely pragmatic cabinet, has opened the door to a diplomatic solution to the 11-year international standoff over Iran's nuclear programme.
Tehran took the Foreign Office by surprise, tweeting on Rouhani's English-language feed that the president would also be prepared to meet Hague, something the UK had not even requested.
"Tehran has responded positively to UK's request. President Rouhani's meeting w/WilliamJHague on the sidelines of UNGA has been confirmed," the tweet said.
"We would be happy to meet," a Foreign Office spokeswoman said, "but we have had nothing formal from Tehran about it."
Diplomats said that the tweet reflected the new Iranian government's eagerness to make diplomatic headway on the nuclear issue, which has been at an impasse for several years. A Hague meeting with either Rouhani or Zarif could clear the way to restoring full diplomatic ties, which have not existed since the British embassy in Tehran was ransacked by a mob in November 2011.

Egyptian aircraft continue attacks in northern Sinai

The Egyptian army continued operations against gunmen in Sinai, using aircraft on Sunday morning to bomb targets near the southern end of the Gaza Strip.
Military spokesman Col. Ahmed Mohammad Ali said at a press conference that the problems in Sinai were due to past negligence, adding that the army was acting to eradicate terrorism and restore stability to the area, according to the Egyptian State Information Service.
Ali said the deterioration of the security situation in Sinai marked a threat to Egypt “that could spread to threaten regional and international security.”
The military was not going to leave Sinai without completely ridding it of all terror, Ali said, adding that once security was restored a development process would begin.
Ali remarked that actions were being taken to stop smuggling and illegal immigration in Sinai. He claimed that Egyptian forces had seized over 150 kg. of explosives in a tunnel beneath a security watch tower along the border with Gaza. Forces were combing the border area intensively with bomb detectors, he said.
