Obama Administration's Benghazi Bombshell

The Washington Post reports that U.S. officials suspect Sufian Ben Qumu, an ex-Guantanamo detainee, “played a role in the attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya, and are planning to designate the group he leads as a foreign terrorism organization.” Ben Qumu is based in Derna, Libya and runs a branch of Ansar al Sharia headquartered in the city.

U.S. officials have found that some of Ben Qumu’s militiamen from Derna “participated in the attack” and “were in Benghazi before the attack took place on Sept. 11, 2012.”

Ben Qumu was fingered early on as a suspect in the Benghazi attack, but his name dropped out of much of the reporting on the assault for more than one year.

In November 2013, however, THE WEEKLY STANDARD reported: “U.S. intelligence officials believe that Sufian Ben Qumu, a Libyan ex-Guantánamo detainee, trained some of the jihadists who carried out the attacks in Benghazi.” Ben Qumu, TWS reported, “has longstanding connections with al Qaeda leadership.”

Report: Kerry Demands Israel Accept 80,000 Palestinian 'Refugees'

The Chinese Xinhua news agency reports that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry proposed to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas that Israel accept 80,000 "refugees" from the 1948 war as part of a final peace settlement. Kerry recently completed his tenth trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories as part of a revamped effort by the Obama administration to secure a peace deal that had eluded both of his immediate predecessors.

The issue of refugees has long been one of the most difficult to resolve in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In the 1948 war--launched by the Palestinians and neighboring Arab states to prevent the Jewish state of Israel from taking root--there were roughly 700,000 Palestinian Arabs who fled their homes in present-day Israel. Many left voluntarily, after being encouraged to do so by Arab leaders, while others were forced out by Israeli troops.
A roughly equivalent number of Jews were expelled from Arab countries or fled persecution there, and were settled into Israel. Most Arab states, however, refused to admit the Palestinian refugees as permanent residents or citizens, hoping to use the plight of the refugees as political leverage against Israel. Today, generations later, the number of "refugees" is now in the several millions, though few of them were born in today's Israel.
In addition, the official definition of a Palestinian "refugee" is far more lenient than the definition used in other conflicts, allowing many itinerant residents of the region to claim refugee status. Palestinian refugees also enjoy the services of a special UN agency, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), dedicated solely to their welfare while they languish in refugee camps throughout the region.
In previous rounds of negotiation, the Israeli government has insisted that any return of refugees must be to the future Palestinian state, not to Israel proper. There has been some suggestion that a token number of refugees might be allowed to return, and that some form of compensation might be offered to the rest. The Kerry offer goes far beyond anything previously contemplated, and it is not clear if the idea was presented to Israel first.

Obama Plays Class Warfare Card After $4 Million Hawaii Vacation

Back from his $4 million Hawaii vacation, President Barack Obama seems poised to sound the populist trumpet in an effort to turn the page on 2013’s disastrous Obamacare rollout.
Many pundits are speculating that Obama, seeing the popularity of liberal populists like New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio, will use the current debate over unemployment insurance to engage in more divisive rhetoric:

The Obama administration has set the stage for a push that could rekindle cries of class warfare — calling for renewed long-term unemployment benefits, a minimum wage increase and a campaign against what Democrats call “income inequality.”
Ahead of his multi-week, holiday vacation in Hawaii, President Obama pushed Congress to move forward on extending federal unemployment benefits that weren’t included in the budget deal Senate Democrats and House Republicans struck to fund the federal government for the next two years. The White House has scheduled an East Room event on Tuesday in which the president will appear with people who lost that insurance.

On Tuesday, that’s precisely what Obama did, trotting out unemployed people to push for another boost to unemployment benefits, and citing income inequality as the rationale.

California Legislators Introduce Bill To Banish NSA

A bipartisan team of California state senators introduced legislation Monday that would prohibit the state and its localities from providing "material support" to the National Security Agency.
If the bill becomes law, it would deny NSA facilities access to water and electricity from public utilities, impose sanctions on companies trying to fill the resulting void and outlaw NSA research partnerships with state universities.
Companies with state contracts also would be banned from working with the NSA.
"I agree with the NSA that the world is a dangerous place," state Sen. Ted Lieu, the bill's Democratic co-author, said in a statement. "That is why our founders enacted the Bill of Rights. They understood the grave dangers of an out-of-control federal government."

Lieu said the NSA's surveillance programs pose "a clear and present danger to our liberties."
"The last time the federal government massively violated the U.S. Constitution," he said, "over 100,000 innocent Americans were rounded up and interned."
State Sen. Joel Anderson, a Republican, is Lieu's co-author. The California state senate has 40 members.
"I support this bill because I support the Constitution, our Fourth Amendment rights and our freedoms to live in the United States of America," Anderson said.

Obama delays the budget process yet again

A new report from Congressional Quarterly suggests that ObamaCare isn’t the only item being delayed in the White House these days. Apparently the official White House budget proposal, which is required by law to be submitted to Congress no later than the first Monday of February, is on track to be “at least a month behind” schedule:

WHITE HOUSE BUDGET DELAYED: The White House is said to be at least a month behind its own schedule for developing a fiscal 2015 budget, which by statute is supposed to be submitted to Congress on the first Monday in February. That will slow work on next year’s spending bills, even though the budget accord negotiated by House Budget Chairman Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., and Senate Budget Chairwoman Patty Murray, D-Wash., established overall discretionary spending levels.

This is hardly shocking from a White House where delays, extensions, and “that rule doesn’t apply to me” thinking has become the norm. We don’t have to go into a long dissertation about the ever mounting White House-approved delays in ObamaCare. Nor Obama’s incessant foot dragging delays of the Keystone Pipeline.
The budget situation, though, is particularly egregious. With this year’s pending failure, five of Obama’s last six budgets have been submitted late, including last year’s FY2014 proposal which was sent to Congress 65 days late. That’s more than any president since the Budget and Accounting Act was passed in 1921.
As President Obama put it in a November radio address, budgets “expose what our priorities are as a country for all to see.” Ironic emphasis on the “all to see.” Apparently these Obama priorities are just not important enough for Obama “the Incompetent’s” White House to manage to write down on schedule.
There is no penalty for submitting a budget late (other than being perceived as incompetent), but the Obama White House’s complete disregard for the law here has real implications in the budget process. While the House and the Senate have agreed on top line budget numbers for FY2015 with the recent deal, the Republicans in the House still need to pass a series of appropriations bills for each part of the government, in order to specify what will be funded. Every day that the White House delays its budget proposal is another day that the House is forced to waste as FY2015 inches closer. Worse, the delays jeopardize any possibility Congress for to get it done.

Report says CNN panel made up facts to defend Obama from Gates criticism

On Tuesday, the Daily Caller reported that a panel on CNN's "AC 360 Later" made up facts to defend Barack Obama from criticism leveled at him by former Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
"Panelists Andrew Sullivan and Jeffrey Toobin dominated the conversation, defending the president at all costs — even by inventing facts," the Daily Caller said.
“I also find it hard to understand because he says at a certain points that he agrees with most of the actual decisions that Obama took in foreign policies, and yet swings at him in the rest of the thing,” Sullivan said. “To say that there was something wrong about Obama trying to get out of Afghanistan, when he was elected to get us out of Afghanistan!”
CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin -- the analyst who once opined that NATO and the United Nations are "legitimate substitutes" for Congress -- echoed that sentiment, saying Obama "promised to get us out of Afghanistan."
But that assertion was incorrect, Jamie Weinstein said.
Obama, Weinstein added, did not promise a withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2008.
"He campaigned on getting out of Iraq and increasing troops in Afghanistan to defeat al Qaida and the Taliban," he wrote.

State Department reveals Hillary Clinton received $500K worth of jewelry from Saudi king

Foreign diplomacy doesn’t always resolve world-class problems, but it sure does rake in the swag.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was given a half-million bucks worth of diamond and ruby jewelry by Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and received $58,000 worth of bling from Brunei.
The lavish gifts were among a treasure trove of keepsakes bestowed upon U.S. leaders in 2012, the State Department disclosed Thursday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin gave Clinton a $560 bottle of cognac, while President Obama received an autographed basketball from Chinese President Xi Jiping and a 41-inch saber from Mongolia.
Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden got a bare-breasted female bust from Liberia.
The Constitution prohibits U.S. government employees from keeping presents worth more than $350. But officials at the U.S. General Services Administration said the gifts were accepted to avoid awkward moments.
The GSA said some of the presents were donated and others were sold to the public.

What to do about the alleged unconstitutional and unlawful actions of President Barack Obama?

Some have proposed marches. Others hearings. Some have demanded the president’s resignation. Some have called for impeachment, even though a Democrat-controlled Senate would be unlikely to oust their party’s leader.
Polls show Americans of all parties are upset with the direction of the country, but what can they actually do to make a difference?
Retired Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, as chairman of Stand Up America, has been at the forefront of many of these rallying cries, encouraging Americans to take action in a number of ways.
But now the former deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army in the Pacific has settled upon a battle plan he believes could actually work: a House-led, parliamentary style vote of “no confidence” in Obama’s administration.
“I have already achieved a level of ‘no confidence’ in Obama as a leader, but now I urge you to examine this concept,” Vallely wrote in an email to supporters obtained by WND. “If you agree with me that all confidence is lost, I urge you to then ask yourself what is in the realm of the possible. I implore you to push aside the urge to try and fix everything in one fell swoop.
“Now is the time for something a dear friend calls ‘conviction without eviction,’ an end that can be brought on through a vote of no confidence, locally, statewide and nationally,” Vallely claims. “This is just a first step in what can only be repaired over time, but it is achievable in the short term and starts to remove Obama’s ability to continue his ruinous ways now.”

U.S. Government to Give $313,000,000 to Muslims for Home Mortgages

According to the GAO, Obama’s administration will be handing over more than $300 million tax dollars to Muslims to help pay their mortgages. $110 million of this money will be used as loans for businesses located in the West Bank.

The name of the group in charge of this is called the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. According to their website, ““OPIC provides financial products, such as loans and guaranties; political risk insurance; and support for investment funds, all of which help American businesses expand into emerging markets.”

Taxpayers foot the bill for First Lady's extended Hawaiian vacation... so she can celebrate her 50th in Oprah's Maui home

When President Barack Obama suggested that his wife should spend extra time in paradise as an early birthday present, he was committing U.S. citizens to pay for the gift, whose costs will likely spiral into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The White House conceded on Monday that the federal treasury will foot the bill to fly First Lady Michelle Obama back to Washington, D.C. on a separate government aircraft after she finishes her extended vacation at the palatial 12-bedroom Hawaii home of talk show legend Oprah Winfrey.
Dedicated vehicles, Secret Service costs, and security sweeps of the Winfrey estate on Maui will add considerably to the total tab.
A Fox News Channel reporter asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Monday to clarify who would get the bill for Mrs. Obama's travel, and the spinner landed on taxpayers.

Michelle Obama’s nutritious lunch program FAILED

I’m surprised that Michelle Lunch Program Obama hadn’t issued a proclamation, “If you like your nutrition plan, you can keep your nutrition plan.” Because one of her first acts as First Lady was to serve America’s school children crap.
That’s why schools had to go BACK to “junk meals.” And apparently they get to keep them. As reported in Medical Daily:

In a reversal, the Obama administration on Thursday announced they would permanently relax [emphasis added] unpopular nutrition rules for the federal school lunch program.
The rules were intended [emphasis added] to fight childhood obesity by lowering calories and portion sizes, but proved wildly unpopular with students and parents throughout the country.

Let’s wait to see what the definition of “relax” is. And I love that Liberals always have programs that “intend” to do the things that they never accomplish. In Michelle Obama’s case, her “get fit” school lunch program cut down on obesity, while increasing anorexia, because the kids refused to eat it!

“Earlier this school year, USDA made a commitment to school nutrition professionals that we would make the meat and grain flexibility permanent and provide needed stability for long-term planning. We have delivered on that promise,” Agriculture Undersecretary for Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services Kevin Concannon said.

OUTRAGE! Obama Administration Is Secretly Declaring Thousands of US Veterans Incompetent – Then Taking Away Their Second Amendment Rights

US veterans started receiving letters from the government last year informing them that they are disabled and not allowed to own, purchase or possess a firearm. If the veteran does decide to purchase a firearm he will by fined, imprisoned or both.
This comes on page 2 of the VA letter.

The majority of US veterans receive basically the same letter. Many of the veterans do not even know the VA declared them incompetent. The targeted veterans say the VA offers an appeals process but then does not share required information.
VA Benefits Administrators are the ones making these declarations against veterans robbing them of their due process rights and arbitrarily submitting their names to the FBI’s NICS database without cause and many times without a veteran’s knowledge.
This is an outrage!
Last April the United States Justice Foundation (USJF) filed a suit against the Obama Administration on behalf of these abused veterans. Katharine Russ reported:

The United States Justice Foundation (USJF) has filed the first lawsuit of what promises to be a string of lawsuits in the US District Court for the Southern District of California against the US Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA)…
…Current policies of the VA have caused more than 129,000 veterans to, arbitrarily, be deprived of their Second Amendment Rights to own firearms without due process simply because they were declared financially “incompetent.”
These arbitrary policies, in no way, consider whether a veteran represents a danger to themselves or to others.
It is, unequivocally, unsound and irrational thinking that sends our young men and women off to war and expects them to come home “whole.” Most veterans experience minor depression, minor PTSD, and even minor short-term memory loss when they return home but can still function- competently.
No court would find them incompetent and strip them of their second amendment rights for such minor diagnoses unless they were proven to be a detriment to society. In some these cases, the VA does not even offer reasons or evidence for such a Determination.

It is outrageous to think that over 100,000 US veterans are the victims of this sort of abuse. US veterans deserve the same Constitutional rights as the rest of us.

That’s rich: Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record

Fifty years after President Johnson started a $20 trillion taxpayer-funded war on poverty, the overall percentage of impoverished people in the U.S. has declined only slightly and the poor have lost ground under President Obama.
Aides said Mr. Obama doesn’t plan to commemorate the anniversary Wednesday of Johnson’s speech in 1964, which gave rise to Medicaid, Head Start and a broad range of other federal anti-poverty programs. The president’s only public event Tuesday was a plea for Congress to approve extended benefits for the long-term unemployed, another reminder of the persistent economic troubles during Mr. Obama’s five years in office.

“What I think the American people are really looking for in 2014 is just a little bit of stability,” Mr. Obama said.
Although the president often rails against income inequality in America, his policies have had little impact overall on poverty. A record 47 million Americans receive food stamps, about 13 million more than when he took office.
The poverty rate has stood at 15 percent for three consecutive years, the first time that has happened since the mid-1960s. The poverty rate in 1965 was 17.3 percent; it was 12.5 percent in 2007, before the Great Recession.
