Iran Hangs Woman in Front of Daughters

A 40-year-old woman sentenced to “retribution” in Iran was hanged in front of her daughters earlier this week, while four other accused men charged with murder received a pardon, according to a human rights group.
The woman identified as Behjat was sentenced to death for the alleged murder of her husband 10 years ago. She was hanged before an audience that included her two daughters, according to the group Iran Human Rights, which tracks human rights situation in Iran.
“One of the daughters was crying and calling for her mother, while the other daughter was asking for her execution,” according to IHR. “The execution was finally carried out by the victims father, Behjat’s father in law.”
At the same time, “the executions of four other prisoners charged with murder was stopped as they were pardoned by the families of the victims,” according to the report.

West outlines plan to crack down on Boko Haram

The U.S. and its allies have agreed on a plan to crack down on Boko Haram after a summit in Paris in which leaders and intelligence officials from the U.S., Europe and Africa grappled with how to combat the Islamic extremist group that is holding 276 schoolgirls hostage and whose reach extends to five countries.
"Today we've decided on a plan of regional and global action that is medium and long term," French President Francois Hollande told a news conference after the summit which was also attended by Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.

Hours after two more attacks in Boko Haram strongholds -- one in Nigeria that left a village torched and 40 people dead and another in Cameroon -- the leaders agreed to improve policing of frontiers, share intelligence, and trace the weapons and cash that are the group's lifeblood.
The plan calls for Western powers to cooperate with Nigeria and neighboring countries in surveillance and patrols along Nigeria's borders, according to The Wall Street Journal.
"This group is armed, with heavy weapons of an unimaginable sophistication and the ability to use them," said French President Francois Hollande.

It is the fundamental legacy of his disastrous presidency.

If Iran Attempted To Do What It Just Claimed It Wants To Do, It Wouldn’t Be Pretty


A top Iranian naval commander, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, said that Iranian forces are prepared to “destroy the U.S. Navy,” according to an interview in Iran’s state-run media. The Middle East Media Research Institute has recounted that Fadavi said that Iran has been constantly preparing for a clash with the US.
Iran has conducted a massive military buildup, including developing advanced ballistic missiles that could be capable of carrying nuclear payload.

Dr. Adam B. Lowther, Research Professor at the Air Force Research Institute, describes the power of the Iranian military in an article for the Diplomat, cautioning against an attack by US forces:

First, Iran possesses what is likely the most capable military the United States has faced in decades. Iran is no Grenada, Panama, Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Serbia, Afghanistan or Iraq. In all of these examples, the U.S. military defeated an adversary incapable of competing with superior American land, naval, and air forces. The Iranian military is far more competent and capable, and after watching the war in Iraq for a decade has a good understanding of U.S. tactics and strategy.

He goes on to describe more reasons why Iran is a formidable foe: the Iranian spy agency is very competent, the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah is “more capable of conducting terrorist attacks than al-Qaeda ever was”, and the cyberwarfare capabilities of Iran are strong.

After six miserable years of one failure after another, one gaff after another, one divisive and partisan statement after another, I have concluded that Barack Obama is a petty man thrust into the job by liberal forces who wanted a President who could manipulate the masses with a silver tongue and a haughty, pious aura of righteousness.

I have encountered many affirmative action candidates in my career and Obama is an exemplar of the type. He expects to have the perks of high position–lots of golf, good salary, nice clothes–without having to put in the effort that most of us do to earn it.
This is the “entitlement” mentality that Obama advocates for people.
The modern Democrat Party is an injustice collector. They find injustice everywhere and use the mechanism of government to extract from those who earn and redistribute to those they define as “victims.” That’s how they win elections, seize control of the levers of government, and enable stoners like Obama to become President.
Obama’s arrogance is stunning: “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.”
Push has come to shove internationally. The world is a much more dangerous place than when Obama took office, in large part because of his feckless foreign policy of weakness and appeasement.

Republican chairman: Clinton's age, health 'fair game'

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Hillary Clinton's age and health are valid campaign issues if the 66-year-old Democrat makes another run for president in 2016, the Republican Party leader said on Sunday.

Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman, was asked on NBC's "Meet the Press" about Republican strategist Karl Rove's reported comments that Clinton might have suffered brain damage from a 2012 blood clot. Priebus refused to distance himself from Rove's remarks or say he should apologize.
"I think that health and age is fair game," Priebus said. "It was fair game for Ronald Reagan. It was fair game for John McCain."
Reagan took office in 1981 at age 69; McCain, the Republican candidate in 2008, was 72 on Election Day that year.
The New York Post reported that Rove made the suggestion at a recent conference. Rove denied using the phrase, but told Fox News Clinton's health would be an issue should she run.
Clinton suffered a blood clot in her head in December 2012 after falling at her home and received several days of treatment at a New York hospital. The incident raised health concerns for Clinton, who was a widely traveled secretary of state during President Barack Obama's first term.

BREAKING: Thousands Of Patriots March On DC To Remove Obama Administration

This week, a group of patriots called “Operation American Spring” decided to send its members to Washing D.C. to protest those in office who, as of late, seem to be completely disregarding our nation’s constitution.
The goal of the group is to push those who have disregarded laws out of office, regardless of whether they are Democrats or Republicans. Their only argument is that those who have not stood by constitutional principles should be removed. Those in question include Obama, Holder, Reid, Pelosi, Boehner, and Biden.
“We are calling for removal…as a start toward constitutional restoration,” said Harry Riley, retired Army Col., “They have all abandoned the U.S. Constitution.”
According to the group, they strive to restore the Constitutional government, rule of law, freedom, and liberty “of the people, by the people, for the people.” They will not condone “despotic” or “tyrannical federal leadership.”
The group expects between 10 million and 30 million Americans to join them in what they hope will be a peaceful demonstration.
“For more than five years, ‘we the people’ have been writing, calling, faxing Congress, the media, screaming in town halls, marching, rallying, demonstrating, petitioning, all to no avail,” Riley concluded, “We have no faith in the ballot box any longer, as many people believe this sacred secret box has been compromised.”

VA watchdog says federal prosecutors involved in scandal probe, charges possible

The chief watchdog for the Department of Veterans Affairs confirmed Thursday that his office is working with federal prosecutors to weigh whether criminal charges are warranted in the health care scandal at a Phoenix VA facility. 
VA acting Inspector General Richard J. Griffin, who spoke to lawmakers on Capitol Hill after VA Secretary Eric Shinseki delivered his first public testimony since the scandal broke, vowed to complete an "exhaustive review" and predicted it would be done by around August. 

He said that review includes OIG criminal investigators as well as federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona and the Public Integrity Section of the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. They are working, he said, to "determine any conduct that we discover that merits criminal prosecution." 
His comments come as some lawmakers call for heads to roll over the burgeoning controversy over patient deaths tied to delayed care. Facing calls for his resignation, Shinseki defended the VA system but vowed to get to the bottom of what happened in Phoenix and elsewhere, and take "all actions necessary." 
"Any allegation, any adverse incident like this makes me mad as hell," Shinseki said Thursday before the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.

Obama Offers Julian Castro Cabinet Position to Groom Him for 2016?

President Barack Obama may have offered San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro a cabinet position in his administration, potentially grooming him to become Hillary Clinton's vice presidential nominee should she run and win the 2016 nomination. 

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Castro may be on the verge of accepting it, as the FBI has started to vet Castro, and a Senate confirmation hearing is "expected to conclude within months."
UPDATE: According to the New York Times, Obama "intends to choose" Castro to lead be the secretary of Housing and Urban Development and "would take the place of Shaun Donovan, who would move to head the Office of Management and Budget. That post is being vacated by Sylvia Burwell, who is Obama's nominee as secretary of Health and Human Services to replace Kathleen Sebelius.
Castro's potential acceptance, which would boost his resume, may also be a concession that Texas is not quite ready to turn blue, as Castro, who has declined runs for statewide office, has long been seen as the Democrats' top star.
Castro declined to comment to the outlet, which reported that it was "unclear what post the president has offered the Democratic stalwart." But the Express-News also reported that after he turned down Obama's offer to be transportation secretary last year, Castro, while saying he has "plans to serve as mayor here as long as the voters would have him," in public has reportedly said, "an offer from the president to serve as education secretary would have proven tougher to turn down."
Castro, like Obama in 2004, electrified Democrats with his keynote address at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. And while he has said he would not make a presidential run in 2016, where he could have potentially been to Hillary Clinton what Obama was to her in 2008, he has not ruled out being on the Democratic ticket in 2016. Democrats want to elevate Castro's profile to attract or retain the 71% of Hispanic voters that voted for President Barack Obama in 2012. When he appeared with Vice President Joe Biden at retiring Sen. Tom Harkin's famous Iowa Steak Fry, where Obama also got buzz before he became his party's standard bearer, Castro made quite a splash.

The Obama administration doesn’t take border security seriously.  Obama has arbitrarily and unilaterally changed immigration laws to enact portions of the DREAM Act, an amnesty plan previously rejected by Congress, which only encourages more illegal immigration.
Not only has Obama encouraged more illegal immigration, through programs like the USDA advertising food stamps in Mexico, but they have all but halted most deportations, allowing criminals to walk free instead of being deported.  The Obama administration has also lied about their actual deportation numbers, fluffing them up to make them appear bigger.
Rather than focus on protecting our southern border with Mexico, Obama seems more preoccupied with trying to seize land along Texas’ northern border with Oklahoma, or blame our Second Amendment and drug use demand for the violent problems the corrupt cartels have caused in Mexico, despite the fact that he himself helped arm those cartels through Operation Fast and Furious.

Woman Charged with Wiretapping For Recording Her Own Arrest on Cellphone

• Springfield, Massachusetts, police officers say Karen Dziewit threatened to get them fired during her arrest on disorderly conduct charge
• The 24-year-old woman claimed to be a 'law student' and screamed at police she will see them in court 
• Dziewit turned on voice recorder feature on her smartphone and hid it in her purse along with empty half-pint of vodka
• It is illegal to record conversations in Massachusetts without knowledge or consent of all parties

A Massachusetts woman is being charged with unlawful wiretapping after she used her cellphone to record officers arresting her on Sunday night.
Officers Jameson Williams and Clay Canning were called to 140 Chestnut Street in Chicopee at around 2 a.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of a verbal fight in the street involving two men and a woman.
When they arrived, they noted that 24-year-old Karen Dziewit was being the “aggressor” in the fight, and that she had a “strong odor of alcohol emanating from her person.”
One of the men at the scene with Dziewit explained to the officers that Dziewit had been upset over an argument, and had slapped one of the men across the face when they got out at Chestnut Street.
When Canning and Williams decided to arrest the screaming woman for disorderly conduct, she allegedly yelled, “I’ve been recording this the whole time, my phone is in my purse, see [you] in court.”
The officers searched her bag and, in addition to finding an empty half-pint of vodka, found that she had, indeed, recorded the incident; she had turned on a recording feature on her phone earlier in the encounter, hidden the phone in her purse, and recorded the arrest.
However, Massachusetts law forbids anyone from recording another person’s voice without that person’s knowledge or permission. In Canada you are permitted to record if you are a party to the conversation.
