One dead after protesters riot against police brutality in Salinas, California

Just one day after two officers in Salinas, California, fatally shot a suspected robber, another man was shot and killed Wednesday night as protests against the quick trigger fingers of local police took place nearby.
According to CBS San Francisco, between 300 and 500 protesters gathered near Del Monte Avenue in Salinas to voice their opposition to what they see as excessive force by police. Currently, it’s unclear what circumstances led up to the deadly confrontation, but an already emotional protest turned violent afterwards, and police with riot gear were called in to respond at the scene.
In the midst of the violence, a police officer was also hospitalized after being hit in the head with a heavy object – either a brick or a bottle – as he was performing CPR on the shooting victim.
One man was also arrested, local KION News reported. Accused of “harassing” a K-9 and rounding up others to “taunt” police, 26-year-old Diego Garcia was charged with inciting a riot and resisting arrest. 
Tuesday’s incident marked the second time in about two weeks that an individual had been killed at the hands of law enforcement, and the third time this year.
As RT reported previously, a female resident called police on Tuesday afternoon to report an attempted break-in. The woman claimed the man involved was also trying to kill her dog and had exposed himself to her. When police arrived at the scene, however, the man was on another street and was carrying gardening shears. As police confronted him, they said he began acting strangely.
"Officers end up talking to this individual, trying to find out what he's doing and what the situation was based upon the original 911 call," Salinas Police Cmdr. Vince Maiorana said. "This individual started to wave the gardening shears at the officers. We tried to deploy a Taser; the Taser did not work and as the officers tried to detain this individual, this individual pulled the gardening shears and actually attacked the officers with the gardening shears.
"In response, the officers, fearing for their personal safety, shot this individual and he is now deceased."

Dem Mayor Who Helped Sebelius Push Obamacare Charged With Fraud

(Daily Caller) – A Democratic mayor who appeared alongside U.S. Health and Human Services Sec. Kathleen Sebelius earlier this year to promote Obamacare has been charged with wire fraud in connection with an $8 million mortgage scheme. Lucie Tondreau, who has been marred by scandal since she was elected mayor of North Miami last year, will be charged in the conspiracy alongside three other suspects.
According to the indictment, between 2005 and 2008, Tondreau conspired with the president of a South Florida mortgage company to recruit straw borrowers to obtain mortgages.
Tondreau and the mortgage company president aired advertisements on a radio show that they hosted to help prop up the scheme, the indictment alleges. The duo “recruited and paid some of the listeners who responded to those advertisements, as well as other individuals, to pose as borrowers to purchase properties”.
The indictment also alleges that the co-conspirators fabricated HUD-1 Settlement forms which misrepresented that straw borrowers had made down payments and closing payments on homes.
The fraudulent loans were made for 20 properties.
In February, Tondreau, North Miami’s first Haitian-American mayor, helped the Obama administration and HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius promote Obamacare. Both spoke at a National Youth Enrollment Day event to increase awareness of Obamacare among young people six weeks before the March 31 sign-up deadline.
Even before Monday’s indictment and February’s appearance with Sebelius, Tondreau was the center of another fraud probe.
Last year, Florida state prosecutors linked requests for 60 absentee ballots to an Internet address from Tondreau’s office. Tondreau denied any wrongdoing in that case. Tondreau’s campaign treasurer was discovered with the pile of absentee ballots in his vehicle. Florida law allows only individual voters or family members of voters to request absentee ballots.

Obama transition team was told about 3 audits showing VA misreported wait times

President Obama’s transition team was warned in 2008 that repeated audits showed the Veterans Affairs Department was misreporting wait times for medical treatment, including one audit revealing delays nearly 10 times worse than the department was officially acknowledging.
The situation was so bad that the inspector general said it stopped trying to police the issue until the VA could prove its information was accurate — raising a red flag for the transition team, according to documents obtained by The Washington Times.

The documents, obtained under a Freedom of Information Act request, show the problem extended back to at least the middle of the Bush administration but remained unresolved when Mr. Obama won election in 2008, and the VA was unable to say this week whether it ever took any steps to correct the problems.
According to the documents, the VA inspector general told the Obama transition team of three audits dating back to 2005 that revealed significant problems with wait times and scheduling.
One of those audits showed an instance in which the department reported 2,900 veterans waited more than a month for medical appointments. The actual figure was closer to 28,000 veterans, according to the auditors.

There is a multitude of reasons for which President Obama should be impeached and removed from office, from his anti-gun agenda and Benghazi, to his undeclared wars in Libya and Syria.
There are already enough votes in the House to start impeachment proceedings, but a Harry Reid-led Senate would never convict.  However, if the GOP takes the Senate in the midterms, an impeachment trial will likely happen shortly thereafter.
A new book is coming out this summer by a former federal prosecutor that lays out the legal and political case for impeachment, and it has some liberals worried.

Increasing evidence that Mitt Romney will run again in 2016

The key to preparing Romney to run in 2016 is making him appear “cool.” The Washington Post on its web site, published today an article by Philip Rucker titled “How Mitt Romney got cool.” This article, along with the Mitt Romney documentary discussed in it, are just the latest of what appears to be a campaign designed to rehabilitate the image of the former Massachusetts governor and prepare him for a third run at the presidency in 2016. Just recently, Romney appeared on NBC's Late Night to “Slow Jam” the news with Jimmy Fallon.
Mitt Romney lost a tough 2012 presidential contest in which the Barack Obama campaign and it's super PAC allies sought to negatively define the 2012 GOP nominee and cast him as an out of touch, ultra wealthy, business executive who didn't understand the needs and concerns of the average American citizen and voter. Perhaps the most memorable was the Priorities USA spot that seemed to suggest Romney was to blame for the wife of that unemployed steelworker, who lost his job working for a company that Bain Capital owned and downsized, later died of cancer and lacked health insurance coverage. Despite the spot being found innacurate by the various media reviews of political ads, the spot resigned strongly among union households in the swing states of the industrial Mid West. President Obama swept all those such swing states on Election Day. Romney did little to defend his image and reputation at Bain Capital and as governor of Massachusetts until he finally punched back at Obama in the first debate between the two of them.

When Obama Resigns

Despite the best efforts of the mainstream media and the political establishment to protect Barack Obama, they can no longer hide the incompetence and criminality of the most divisive and sordid administration in American history.

Former National Security Council Spokesman Tommy “dude, this was like two years ago” Vietor is the poster boy of the Obama Administration; a collection of inexperienced, emotionally immature ideologues, whose “the ends justify the means” mentality permits them to tell any lie, violate any law and indifferently sacrifice lives as long as it serves their political objectives.

This bungling and scandal-prone gaggle of amoral nitwits, led by a talking teleprompter, survives only because the extent of their dishonesty is matched by that of the political-media establishment and the public’s inexplicable willingness to tolerate it.

It is, in fact, explainable. Just as certain banks were “too big to fail,” Barack Obama is, quite simply, too corrupt to fail.

The “too big to fail” theory asserts that certain financial institutions are so large and so interconnected that their failure would be disastrous to the economy, and they, therefore, must be supported by government when they face difficulty.

Report: Doctors and Hospitals Are Rebelling Against Obamacare

A national survey of health insurance agents provides evidence of what conservatives already knew–Obamacare is limiting access to preferred doctors and hospitals while causing insurance premiums to skyrocket.
National Association of Health Underwriters agents, all of whom are certified to sell policies related or unrelated to the Affordable Care Act, were surveyed in 16 cities around the nation, and their description of the current state of the healthcare picture is stark.
Prices are jumping dramatically. The 30 to 40 percent increase cited in Illinois looks positively tame compared to the near-doubling of premiums in Georgia under the new entitlement program.
One agent in Michigan reported new premiums from three to almost five times as high as previous levels.
And while insurance premiums are increasing, healthcare itself is diminishing under the federal program.
At least two-thirds of doctors in California and Virginia are opting out of Obamacare altogether. The situation in Nevada appears to be similar. Many large insurance companies are similarly refusing to participate in Obamacare exchanges. Those which do choose to participate are dramatically shrinking their provider networks and excluding well-known doctors and hospitals.

Sarah Palin Calls Obama 'Lazy' Over Approach To Veterans Affairs Scandal

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) railed against President Barack Obama on Wednesday, accusing him of mishandling the scandal currently plaguing the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The inspector general is investigating reports of misconduct at 26 VA facilities nationwide, including the Phoenix facility where 40 veterans allegedly died waiting for care while records were manipulated to hide excessive wait times. Fox News' Sean Hannity asked Palin why she believed Obama chose not to go after VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.
“When you hold someone accountable, it takes an energy and resource. And Barack Obama is lazy,” Palin said. “In fact, he warned us that he was lazy and he attributed that to having been brought up in Hawaii. His words, not mine.”
Palin was probably referring to a 2011 conversation between Barbara Walters and Obama, in which the president admitted he may have picked up his "laziness" from growing up in Hawaii.
In the Fox News appearance, Palin added that the problem "starts at the top," saying Obama has "not been engaged."
“Another thing is, Barack Obama still doesn’t see what the main problem is. The main problem is government. It is not the solution, like Ronald Reagan said. It is the problem,” Palin added.
Obama spoke out Wednesday for the first time on the VA scandal, saying the situation is "dishonorable" and "disgraceful" if true. Though some expected the president to announce Shinseki's resignation at the Wednesday press conference, Obama said a full-scale investigation would predicate any action.

We’ve Heard This Before: Obama Is Mad

The RNC released a new video highlighting President Obama’s perpetual “outrage” over scandals emanating from his administration.
White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough told CBS’s Face the Nation President Obama is “madder than hell” about revelations the V.A. placed veterans on secret lists to hide their true wait times.
However, as the RNC points out, President Obama has a lengthy history of expressing “anger” in response to nearly every embarrassing scandal that has occurred over the past six years. The examples cited in the video include IRS targeting, the failed Obamacare rollout, GSA wasteful spending, Fast and Furious, and the Secret Service scandal.
Appropriately, the video concludes with CNN’s Drew Griffin offering President Obama some timely advice:

DREW GRIFFIN: If the president is truly mad as hell, he should be mad at himself and his staff for not only ignoring our reporting, but the government’s own reporting showing this was a problem, and, in fact, ignoring his own campaign promise [from] seven years ago.

 China, Iran agree to push bilateral cooperation to new stage

Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani who attended the CICA summit in Shanghai. The two presidents have agreed to push bilateral cooperation to a new stage. 
Xi Jinping has called for more cooperation between the two governments and people-to people exchanges. Xi Jinping said the two countries should expand bilateral trade and push forward cooperation in oil and gas, as well as petrochemical industry.
Xi Jinping also said, China respects Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy. China insists that negotiation is the only right and effective way to solve Iran nuclear issues. President Xi has welcomed progress made in the recent nuclear talks. He voiced hope that relevant parties continue their efforts to ink a comprehensive agreement. Xi Jinping said China is willing to enhance communication with Iran and play a constructive role in pushing forward the nuclear talks.
President Rouhani reiterated Iran’s stance on its nuclear program, saying Iran enjoys the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy under the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Rouhani stressed a comprehensive agreement would benefit all parties.


The May 2014 updated Obama scandals user handbook

Approximately one month after the handbook was created, another Obama administration scandal developed. In addition to Benghazi, Fast and Furious, hacking of AP telephone records, and abuses by the IRS, EPA, and HHS, now there was the NSA scandal. The handbook was updated.
The administration could not stay out of trouble, so the November 2013 updated handbook included the Census Bureau scandal.
Now comes a fresh scandal involving the Veteran’s Administration.
As with every other scandal, President Obama repeats the same pattern. He expresses outrage, insisting that nobody is more upset about the situation than he is. He calls the situation “unacceptable” and promises to get to the bottom of the matter and hold people “accountable.” His supporters insist that Obama is blameless, and that critics are just playing politics. Time goes by, nobody is held accountable, and the pliant media forgets the story. Anyone asking questions is ridiculed for pursuing old news. Last-ditch efforts to change the subject involve bringing up former President George W. Bush and the Iraq War. when that fails, those seeking the truth are derided as racist bigots.
To avoid repetition, only new information is provided. The previous handbooks contain the original scandals. With those caveats in place, here is the May 2014 updated Obama scandals user handbook.
