Hillary Clinton attempts to explain her remark about Taliban 5 not being threat to U.S.

Hillary Clinton has not officially thrown her pants suit in the ring, but last night she took her first big step toward an eventual run for the presidency by entering the lion’s den (aka Fox News Channel), where she sat down for a Q & A with hosts Bret Baier and Greta Van Susteren.

Clinton appeared affable enough, even when asked questions that previously rankled her, such as to explain the two sets of talking points that emerged after the Benghazi raid. She had no real answer beyond the “fog-of-war” defense, but she wasn’t pressed and she didn’t lose her composure.
The highlight of her appearance was her response to a challenge by Van Susteren to explain her curious claim after the recent notorious prisoner swap that the so-called “Taliban 5” are “not a threat to the United States.”
Clinton had apparently been coached on this topic because she answered without hesitation (video here). Unfortunately for her, this was her response: “As long as they’re in Qatar, they’re not a threat to the United States.”
If only they had been sent to Pluto!
When Van Susteren pressed, noting that Osama bin Laden was never in the United States, Clinton dug herself deeper, explaining:

No, no, but in Qatar, with an agreement that has been entered into, they are supposed to be constrained from what they can do, and certainly they are not supposed to be permitted to travel. That is, my understanding tells me, what the deal is.

But within days of the exchange, Reuters reported that the prisoners would be allowed to “move freely” about Qatar. One of the five freed terrorists, moreover, told a relative that he would return to the battlefield to “fight Americans” again. Can we construe from Clinton’s response that she was unaware of these developments, and, if so, is she to be taken seriously as presidential timber? Even Barack Obama manages to keep abreast of current events, if only by following the news.

Obama Megadonor Indicted on Fraud and Manslaughter Charges

Obama megadonor Kareem Ahmed was indicted Tuesday by a California grand jury in an alleged multimillion-dollar insurance kickback scheme, TPM reports.
Ahmed was a major Obama donor during the 2012 election. He gave $1 million to Priorities USA Action in 2012. He also donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to other Democratic candidates.
Additionally, Ahmed called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) his “best friend,” according to TPM.
Fifteen of his associates were also were also indicted.

Ahmed, the president and CEO of a company called Landmark Medical Management, is accused of masterminding the scheme and faces charges including conspiracy, insurance fraud, and, most dramatically, involuntary manslaughter, according to one of two sealed indictments issued by an Orange County grand jury both dated June 17 and obtained this week by TPM.
The first of the two indictments accused Ahmed of developing topical cream formulas “based on the profitability of the ingredients,” and then giving doctors who treated workers’ compensation patients illegal financial incentives to prescribe the creams. The scheme, which ran from 2009-2013, also involved filing false claims with multiple insurance companies, the nine-count indictment alleges.
The indictment provides few details on the involuntary manslaughter charge, alleging only that Ahmed, a pharmacist named Michael Rudolph, and a doctor named Andrew Jarminiski (who are both charged along with Ahmed in the first indictment) “did unlawfully and without malice kill Andrew G. (a minor), a human being, in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death, in an unlawful manner and without due caution and circumspection.”

Greta Van Susteren Is ‘Furious’ at President Obama: ‘At Best, He Blew It. At Worst, He Doesn’t Give a Damn.’

Fox News host Greta Van Susteren says she is “furious” at President Barack Obama after he apparently failed to even mention jailed U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi during a discussion with the president of Mexico this week.
“I’m furious at President Obama and you should be too. At best, he blew it. At worst, he doesn’t give a damn,” Van Susteren said.
The two presidents discussed the U.S. border crisis but, according to the White House’s own notes of the call, Tahmooressi’s name never came up.
The former U.S. Marine has been locked up in a Mexican prison for months after he allegedly took a wrong turn near the border. He was arrested at a checkpoint because he was traveling with firearms.
“President Obama had his chance in that call to help Sgt. Tahmooressi, but he let us all down big time,” Van Susteren added.

Ex-Bergdahl Roommate: White House Knew He Was a Traitor Before Swap

The former roommate of Bowe Bergdahl — the U.S. Army sergeant traded for five Taliban militants — says the government knew very well he was a traitor when they were making the controversial swap.

"They have all the documentation on it. The administration knew he deserted, they knew he wasn't a hero,'' retired Army Spc. Cody Full told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"They knew that he wasn't captured on a battlefield or lagged behind on a patrol. They knew he went out and deserted on his own.''

Bergdahl was held captive in Afghanistan by the Taliban-aligned Haqqani network from June 2009 until May of this year.

He was traded for five high-ranking Taliban members who were being held at Guantanamo Bay — a secret deal made without the consultation of Congress.

Earlier this week, eleven people, including election monitors, were killed when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in the country's north the day after the presidential runoff.

Sediq Azizi, spokesman for the provincial governor in Samangan province, said on Sunday that a minibus hit an IED the night before, with the blast killing six women, one child and four men in the provincial capital Aybak.
