Mark Mayfield, Mississippi Tea Party leader, dead in apparent suicide
A prominent leader of the Mississippi Tea Party who was arrested in connection with photos posted online of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran's bedridden wife died on Friday of an apparent suicide, the man's lawyer said.
Mark Mayfield, 58, was vice chairman of the Mississippi Tea Party and a Central Mississippi Tea Party chairperson, according to those organizations' websites."This is a terrible tragedy that shouldn't have happened," Mayfield's lawyer, John Reeves, told Reuters.
Ridgeland, Mississippi Police Chief Jimmy Houston says the body of attorney Mark Mayfield was found Friday morning at his home in a gated community outside Jackson.
Houston says Mayfield had been shot, and a suicide note was found.
Mayfield was one of three men accused last month of conspiring with a blogger who was charged with taking photos of Cochran's bedridden wife in her nursing home for use in a political video against the incumbent. Mayfield was charged with conspiracy to photograph someone without permission.
Mexican military chopper crosses the border, shoots at agents
TUCSON - News 4 Tucson has learned a Mexican military helicopter travelled across the border and fired on U.S. Border Patrol agents. It happened in the early morning hours Thursday, west of the San Miguel Gate on the Tohono O'Odham Nation. The chopper fired on the agents but missed them. The chopper then flew back into Mexico. We're told Mexican authorities contacted the U.S. and apologized for the incident.
We've received two statements regarding the incident:
Art del Cueto, Border Patrol Tucson Sector union president:
The incident occurred after midnight and before 6 a.m. Helicopter flew into the U.S. and fired on two U.S. Border Patrol agents. The incident occurred west of the San Miguel Gate on the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation. The agents were unharmed. The helicopter went back into Mexico. Mexico then contacted U.S. authorities and apologized for the incident.
Andy Adame, U.S. Border Patrol Spokesperson:
Early this morning, a Mexican law enforcement helicopter crossed approximately 100 yards north into Arizona nearly 8 miles southwest of the Village of San Miguel on the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation while on a drug interdiction operation near the border. Two shots were fired from the helicopter but no injuries or damage to US property were reported. The incident is currently under investigation.
URGENT- FEDS STAND DOWN AS U.S. BORDER COLLAPSES!
The decrease of Border Patrol activity in the border city of Brownsville, Texas, highlights how not only is the Border Patrol stretched too thin, but its agents are also being pressured to stand down from enforcing immigration laws.
Additionally, the feds are ensuring a media blackout of the border collapse by closing down areas near the border which have traditionally been open to the public.
In and around Brownsville, far more Border Patrol vehicles could be seen parked at various government facilities than patrolling the streets and surrounding areas, contrary to what one would expect considering the current flood of tens of thousands of immigrants from Central America crossing the border.
And while Americans are routinely violated – and abused – at TSA checkpoints in the name of “safety,” illegal immigrants on the other hand are roaming past America’s border with complete impunity and are given better treatment by the government.
Of course, by shutting down public areas near the border, the Obama administration can cover this up to its advantage as the White House pressures Congress into enacting amnesty in law, all while reducing national sovereignty at the same time.
BREAKING: Desperate Dems Fear “All-But-Certain” Impeachment if GOP Takes Senate
Years ago, impeaching President Obama would’ve seemed like an impossibility, but with scandals and corruption leaking out of every nook and cranny of the White House, the likelihood of accomplishing such a Herculean feat has dramatically increased.
Hot off the heels of a disastrous negotiation with terrorists, an Iraqi crisis, and several congressional investigations into the VA scandal, IRS targeting, and Benghazi cover up, the movement calling for Obama’s impeachment has gone mainstream.
House Republicans claim the votes are there to move forward on impeachment, and to further prove the seriousness of all the fervor, Speaker Boehner is set to file a lawsuit against the president.

Hillary called Obama ‘incompetent and feckless’ in boozy rant
Hillary Clinton called President Obama “incompetent and feckless” and charged that he had “no hand on the tiller half the time” during a boozy reunion with college pals, a new book claims. The scathing attacks came as the wine was flowing at a May 2013 dinner at Le Jardin Du Roi, a cozy French bistro near the Clinton family home in Westchester, according to “Blood Feud,” by best-selling author Edward Klein.
The former first lady, months removed from being Obama’s secretary of state, unleashed the verbal assault between sips of vino, sources told the author.
“When her friends asked Hillary to tell them what she thought — really thought — about the president she had served for four draining years, she lit into Obama with a passion that surprised them all,” Klein wrote.
Clinton ranted, “The thing with Obama is that he can’t be bothered, and there is no hand on the tiller half the time. That’s the story of the Obama presidency. No hand on the f–king tiller,” according to the book, which was excerpted exclusively in Sunday’s Post.
“Obama has turned into a joke,” she went on, according to Klein.
“The IRS targeting the Tea Party, the Justice Department’s seizure of AP phone records and [Fox reporter] James Rosen’s e-mails — all these scandals. Obama’s allowed his hatred for his enemies to screw him the way Nixon did,” she raged, the book says, adding that she called the president “incompetent and feckless.”
BREAKING! There May Be Enough Invalidated Votes to Overturn Cochran Victory …Update: 800 Hinds County Voters Crossed Over Illegally
The Chris McDaniel campaign has identified multiple Mississippi counties in which enough improper ballots have been cast that a legal challenge to the outcome of the election is warranted. This after Thad Cochran reportedly relied on 25,000-35,000 Democrat votes to pull him to victory in the June 24 runoff.
UPDATE: The Cochran campaign is reportedly asking county clerks not to certify the voting rolls until the last day possible so that the McDaniel people will not be able to look at the rolls and challenge them.
Russian jets to aid the fight against Sunni rebels in Iraq – PM Maliki
Jets from Russia and Belarus will hopefully make a key difference in the fight against ISIS in Iraq, the country’s Prime Minister Nouri Maliki said. He expressed regrets over Iraq's contract with the US, saying their jets are taking too long to arrive."God willing within one week this force will be effective and will destroy the terrorists' dens," he told BBC Arabic.
Meanwhile, Maliki criticized the process of purchasing US jets as “long-winded,” adding that the radicals could have been repelled if Iraq had proper air defense.
"I'll be frank and say that we were deluded when we signed the contract [with the US]," Maliki said. "We should have sought to buy other jet fighters like British, French and Russian to secure the air cover for our forces; if we had air cover we would have averted what had happened," he went on.
Maliki said Iraq bought second-hand jet fighters from Russia and Belarus "that should arrive in Iraq in two or three days.”
The radical Sunni Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS or ISIL) has taken large parts of the country's north from the Shia government.
During the interview, the prime minister also confirmed that Syria was behind Tuesday’s air strikes that targeted Iraqi rebels, adding that he welcomed the move.
"They carry out their strikes and we carry out ours and the final winners are our two countries," he said.
On Tuesday, unidentified bombers launched an air strike on ISIS positions in the northern Iraqi city of al-Qaim.
Iraq’s own air force has also been carrying out attacks on insurgent strongholds over the past week.
On Monday, radical Sunni militants regained control over the northern city of Tal Afar and an airport. A day earlier, jihadists captured three new towns and two border crossings – one with Jordan and the other with Syria.
The ongoing offensive by ISIS is aimed at achieving total dominance in Iraq by radical Sunni militants.
Hundreds of Iraqi soldiers have been killed by the insurgents since June 9, when the Sunni militants started their offensive, according to Iraqi forces.
The United Nations says more than 1,000 people – mainly civilians – have been killed during the surge thus far.

Obama Administration Oversaw Arms Shipments to Al Qaeda in Libya
The real story, or the heavily sanitized version of the real story, is slowly dribbling out of the mainstream media. And there are a few things to keep in mind while reading through this New York Times piece.1. Qatar has ties to Al Qaeda, runs Al Jazeera and was responsible for much of the Arab Spring.
2. The Qatari goal was to build up a network of Islamist states.
3. Qatar has a major financial presence in Europe and is turning into the a new and even more dangerous Saudi Arabia.
This situation is slowly leaking into the mainstream media, either because Obama Inc. is breaking with Qatar or looking to shift responsibility for actions that they knew Qatar was undertaking.
The United States, which had only small numbers of C.I.A. officers on the ground in Libya during the tumult of the rebellion, provided little oversight of the arms shipments. Within weeks of endorsing Qatar’s plan to send weapons there in spring 2011, the White House began receiving reports that they were going to Islamic militant groups. They were “more antidemocratic, more hard-line, closer to an extreme version of Islam” than the main rebel alliance in Libya, said a former Defense Department official.
And again, we are not talking about the Muslim Brotherhood here. According to DC, the Muslim Brotherhood is moderate. We are talking Al Qaeda militias, officially linked or not officially linked.
He said that Qatar would not have gone through with the arms shipments if the United States had resisted them, but other current and former administration officials said Washington had little leverage at times over Qatari officials. “They march to their own drummer,” said a former senior State Department official. The White House and State Department declined to comment.
The technical term for this is plausible deniability. The State Department at this point had every reason to know what Qatar would do. The terrorist ties there were well documented.
IRS ADMITS LEAKING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION Used Against Mitt Romney in 2012 Elections
The IRS admitted this week to leaking the National Organization for Marriage‘s confidential information to far left groups. The IRS will pay the National Organization for Marriage $50,000.
The conservative group National Organization of Marriage accused the IRS of leaking documents to the Obama Campaign in 2012. A top Obama campaign official Joe Solomese used the information to attack Mitt Romney during the 2012 election. The Huffington Post used the leaked documents in a story questioning former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s support for traditional marriage. The document showed Romney donated $10,000 to NOM.
The IRS agreed this week to pay only $50,000 in damages to the National Organization for Marriage after leaking confidential information to a leading gay marriage group. The Daily Signal reported, via Free Republic:
Two years after activists for same-sex marriage obtained the confidential tax return and donor list of a national group opposed to redefining marriage, the Internal Revenue Service has admitted wrongdoing and agreed to settle the resulting lawsuit.NOM released this statement today.
The Daily Signal has learned that, under a consent judgment today, the IRS agreed to pay $50,000 in damages to the National Organization for Marriage as a result of the unlawful release of the confidential information to a gay rights group, the Human Rights Campaign, that is NOM’s chief political rival.
“Congress made the disclosure of confidential tax return information a serious matter for a reason,” NOM Chairman John D. Eastman told The Daily Signal. “We’re delighted that the IRS has now been held accountable for the illegal disclosure of our list of major donors from our tax return.”
The Daily Signal is seeking comment on the settlement from the IRS and Justice Department.
In his order entered this morning, District Judge James C. Cacheris granted the settlement of NOM’s suit against the IRS, which was represented by the Department of Justice.
In February 2012, the Human Rights Campaign posted on its web site NOM’s 2008 tax return and the names and contact information of the marriage group’s major donors, including soon-to-be Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. That information then was published by the Huffington Post and other liberal-leaning news sites.
HRC’s president at the time, Joe Solmonese, was tapped that same month as a national co-chairman of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.
“It has been a long and arduous process to hold the IRS accountable for their illegal release of our confidential tax return and donor list, which was ultimately given to our chief political rival by the recipient,” said John Eastman, NOM’s chairman and a member of the ActRight legal Foundation team that brought the lawsuit against the IRS on NOM’s behalf in October, 2013. “In the beginning, the government claimed that the IRS had done nothing wrong and that NOM itself must have released our confidential information. Thanks to a lot of hard work, we’ve forced the IRS to admit that they in fact were the ones to break the law and wrongfully released this confidential information.”
NOM said that an investigation revealed that its 2008 tax return and list of major donors was released to Matthew Meisel, a gay activist in Boston, MA. Email correspondence from Meisel revealed that he told a colleague that he had “a conduit” to obtain NOM’s confidential information. While testifying under oath in a deposition in the litigation, Meisel invoked the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination and refused to disclose the identity of his conduit. Documents obtained during the litigation prove that Meisel then provided NOM’s tax data to the Human Rights Campaign (whose president was a national Co-Chair of the Obama Reelection Campaign). The information was also published by the Huffington Post.
IRS Spent $4.4 Billion on IT
The IRS under the Obama Administration has spent over $4 billion on contracts labeled under information technology and software despite IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testifying this week that budgetary restraints prevented the agency from spending $10 million to save and store emails.Koskinen said “declining budget resources” at the IRS caused the agency decided to reject spending the $10 million needed to ensure emails were properly secured.
A review of IRS spending by the Free Beacon shows the agency has spent a massive amount on what it labeled as IT/software and data processing contracts in the past five fiscal years. The official government’s spending website shows the IRS spent $4.4 billion during this time period.
A total of 12,543 contracts were awarded under this product code.
Records show the IRS under President George Bush spent a total of $5.3 billion in eight years for the same contractive services. If the IRS spending trends continue as they have thus far, the IRS under Obama is on track to far exceed what was spent during the Bush presidency.
Algeria supporters riot across France after historic World Cup qualification
French police deployed tear gas on exultant Algeria supporters as their celebrations spiraled out of control, following a landmark World Cup match. Thousands of fans flooded streets across France with officers making at least 74 arrests. The Algerian team drew with Russia (1-1) on Thursday night and qualified for the knock-out stages of the World Cup for the first time in history. The milestone moment was marked throughout France by the country’s large Algerian community.
While most of the celebrations were peaceful, there were outbreaks of trouble with some supporters clashing with police who retaliated by firing off tear gas.
In the southern city of Marseilles, violence flared at around 1.00am when groups of supporters began hurling stones at police cars. Officers quickly responded with tear gas and arrested at least 6 people in the unrest.
In the central city of Lyon, police were forced to deploy water cannon to control supporters who had torched a dozen vehicles.
"Groups took advantage of the crowds to create disorder," an officer told Le Monde newspaper.
The worst violence was witnessed in the North, with over twenty supporters detained for torching vehicles and vandalizing public property.
