Canadians to bring water to Detroit after taps shut off for thousands

Is shutting off water for tens of thousands of Detroit residents behind on their bills a violation of human rights? That’s the argument a Canadian non-profit is making.

The Council of Canadians plans to bring 1,000 litres of water across the Canada-U.S. border to those living in the U.S. with no running water, as part of a symbolic rally July 24.
“The human suffering is that of a major disaster, one that grows every day,” said national chairperson of the Council of Canadians Maude Barlow in a release, who’s calling for U.S. President Barack Obama to declare a state of emergency.
“Water is a human right, and it is unacceptable in a country of plenty, surrounded by the Great Lakes, the largest source of fresh water in the world, that people should go without.”
But the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) remains confident that there are programs in place to help those who truly can’t afford water.

“We have never denied, and will not deny anyone water access for clean, potable water service to anyone who can demonstrate a legitimate, clear cut financial hardship, and we never will,” spokesperson Greg Eno told Global News on Monday.

As Detroit tries to come out of the largest municipal bankruptcy in American history, the city’s water department has been highlighted as a significant issue—responsible for about $6 billion of the $18 billion debt.

More Evidence the State Department Has 'Gone Rogue'

The Wall Street Journal drew attention Friday to the striking difference between statements by President Barack Obama and UN Ambassador Samantha Power on the downed Malaysia Airlines passenger jet in eastern Ukraine. While Obama stopped somewhat short of blaming Russia and Russian separatists, Power, in a speech to the UN Security Council blamed the separatists and hinted strongly at suspicions of a direct Russian role.

It was not the first time that the State Department, notoriously reluctant to be on the right side of any issue, has been out in front on the Ukraine-Russia crisis. Earlier this year, Secretary of State John Kerry visited Maidan square to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and even Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland lost patience with passive Europeans: "F--- the EU," she was caught saying.
At the time, I speculated that the lethargic State bureaucracy had finally lost patience with the hapless White House, and finally gotten up off its Foggy Bottom. "They know that President Obama is disengaged from foreign affairs," I wrote. "Though many State Department bureaucrats lean left, and preferred Obama to the Republican alternatives, they know--after Benghazi--that the White House does not have their backs."
The State Department still appears to be doing things the way it sees fit. That hasn't always worked out so well--last week, for example, spokesperson Jen Psaki alarmed journalists when she virtually ignored the Ukraine crisis and could not say whether any Americans were on the Malaysia flight. But Psaki is a political hack from the Obama campaign. The career bureaucrats seem to be pushing--hard, if quietly--against the administration.

U.S. dollars flow to fund jihad

Some of Africa’s most notorious jihad groups, such as Boko Haram and al-Shabaab, are benefiting from an elaborate, international funding network, including large sums of money flowing from the United States.

MoneyJihad.com founder, Terror Finance Blog analyst and writer A. D. Kendall says Somalis residing in the United States, for example, are a major source of al-Shabaab’s financing.
“First and foremost, the Somalis contribute through remittances and hawala. Somalis wire money home, which is often processed by Dahabshiil, a business that routinely pays off al-Shabaab,” Kendall told WND. “Dahabshiil’s involvement in financing terrorism is the reason why Barclays attempted to end its business relationship with Dahabshiil.”
Barclay’s moved to shut down its connections with Dahabshiil because of numerous reports of money transfers from Somalis in the U.S., Canada and Europe to al-Shabaab through the Dubai-based company.
Kendall adds that American Somalis also support jihad through direct fundraising.
“There’s international zakat for the mujahideen,” Kendall said. “Somali activists like Amina Farah Ali in Minnesota or Basaaly Moalin in California raise money from their communities for jihad and send it to al-Shabaab.”
Amina Farah Ali, in fact, was convicted in federal court for funneling money to al-Shabaab.
Moalin was also sentenced to 18 years in prison for “providing material support to al-Shabaab.”
Kendall further points to Somali media that openly report direct contributions from American Somalis to al-Shabaab.
“Western readers should be aware of separate, independent reports by the Somali diaspora news media that Dahabshiil finances terrorism. According to reports by Waagacusub, Kalshaale and Suna Times, Dahabshiil pays one-half million dollars twice a year to al-Shabaab,” Kendall said.

What Sarah Palin Just Said Could Have Obama Looking Over His Shoulder

Conservative firebrand Sarah Palin tackled Barack Obama’s perceived dereliction of duty during a weekend speech, going so far as to double down on her prior claim that he should be impeached.
“These days you hear all of these politicians denouncing Barack Obama,” she said at the Western Conservative Summit, “’Oh, he’s a lawless, imperial president and he ignores court orders and changes laws by fiat and refuses to enforced laws that he just doesn’t like.’”
Palin complained, however, that the outrage generally ends at the rhetorical phase.
“That’s true,” she said of the common criticisms; “but the question is hey, politicians, what are you gonna do about it?”
She suggested “calling their bluff,” noting that decisive action is the only way to deliver a clear message.

“There’s only one remedy for a president who commits high crimes and misdemeanors,” she said, “and it’s impeachment.”

The former Alaska governor went on to note that America’s founders viewed ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ as “the abuse or violation of some public trust.”
She said an impeachable offense, according to Alexander Hamilton, consists of “injuries done immediately to the society itself.”
According to Palin, a number of scandals that have rocked the administration thus far fit that bill. Primarily, however, she noted that the immigration crisis should qualify as grounds for impeachment.
“Alone,” she concluded, “not defending borders is dereliction of duty, violating the oath of office. If that’s not impeachable, nothing is. And if he’s not impeachable, no one is.”

Obama is Just bringing Harmless Foreign Children to U.S.? How Do You Explain This Then?

The Obama/Government narrative is that ‘children’ are just trying to escape violent and dangerous environments in South America. Facts be damned, this is the line the Obama government wants you to accept. And, in the real world, facts tell us children are indeed flooding our borders, but not because of the crime and poverty at home. The facts tell us the kids are coming because they’ve been promised a free ride.
And as we’ve documented several times here at LibertyNews.com, if an illegal alien illegally crosses the boarder, claims to be under 18 and from a country outside of Mexico, the Border Patrol must process them out to DHS. The DHS then works within the HHS agency to process them out into U.S. society.
We know Obama’s government and its looters in Washington are stealing our money, using it to pay for social services, and offering those services to people who come here illegally. And now we know Obama’s government is funneling illegal aliens into U.S. society.
Getting back to the narrative about the children… what Obama’s government of looters and crooks is not telling you is that many of the ‘children’ coming across the borders are some of the most violent humans on the planet. Don’t just take our word for it. Just look at the facts at one Border Patrol facility in Arizona and you’ll see all you need to know.

Now, Border Patrol documents newly obtained exclusively by Townhall detail the crimes MS-13 and other gang members in the Nogales processing center admit to committing.
In an interview with Border Patrol agents, 15-year-old self admitted MS-13 member with the last name Aguilar said he killed a member of rival gang 18th Street six months ago with a fully automatic Uzi before coming to the United States.
“He claims he walked over to the wounded rival, and emptied the magazine into the rival’s body,” interview documents show.
Aguilar also admitted to, “being involved in extortion for the gang,” and “collecting money from local vendors and threatening them if they refused to pay.”
Another MS-13 member with the last name Garcia admitted to receiving a phone call while in the processing center from El Salvador with orders to carry out a murder on a rival gang member.
“Garcia stated he received a call from homeboy who is incarcerated in an El Salvadoran prison. This individual ordered Garcia to kill a rival 18th Street gang member,” documents state. “Garcia stated his plans were to reunite in Los Angeles with is father.”

Keep in mind, folks, this is just one single Border Patrol facility. And Obama’s government is releasing these terrorists right in to our towns and cities.

Former Secret Service Agent Has Harsh Words For Hillary

Former Secret Service agent Dan Emmett served both Bush Presidents and President Clinton. In a new book, he exposes Hillary Clinton and her true character.
Emmet details in his book that Hillary was far more demanding than her husband and quite a demeaning boss. She even cussed him out on more than one occasion.
Hillary was known to ask Secret Service agents to carry her luggage, as if they were her servants. In contrast, Emmett says Bill was a big “softie”.
This report may seem a bit shocking, but it appears to be corroborated by others who have worked for Clinton. The general consensus is that she’s no fun to be around if you’re on her pay roll.
The Left touts Hillary as their little darling, but ask anyone who’s worked for her and they’ll tell you a different story.
