conversations that happen in the White House behind closed doors.
That ranges from official conversations to small interactions between
the First couple themselves.
The relationship between Michelle and her husband is an interesting
one to take in. According to secret service agents assigned to the first
family, Michelle has a visceral reaction to white Republicans. And,
according to claims by secret service agents, Michelle often verbally
insists that Obama take the “African American” side of social issues.
Although this is not entirely a secret, it is still shocking to hear from such an inside source.
Perhaps the best example of Michelle’s stance comes with the Trayvon
Martin scandal, when the President deemed the controversial cases a
“tragedy.” At the time, the president commented that if he had a son, he
imagined he would “look a lot like Trayvon Martin.”
What do you think? Are you surprised that Michelle rules the roost when it comes to Obama’s decision-making?
Numerous states have grown tired of the terrible overreach by the
massive leviathan that is the federal government. States are beginning
to fight back by reclaiming their sovereignty and state’s rights under
the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.
The states are fighting back on multiple fronts by nullifying federal
laws within their borders, including gun control, Obamacare, and NSA
spying.
Several states have also submitted applications calling for a
Convention of States for the purpose of proposing new amendments to the
Constitution, designed to reign in the federal government and return it
to it’s original boundaries.
States have been nullifying federal gun control laws. They do this
by refusing to recognize federal statutes, refusing to enforce those
statutes, or refusing to cooperate and assist with federal enforcement
efforts. Michigan recently nullified the federal ban on short-barreled shotguns and rifles, and will now allow their citizens to possess them.
Other states have passed laws or are considering bills that would nullify federal gun control, like Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky and Missouri, among many others.
Obamacare
Many states are seeking out ways to nullify Obamacare. They can do
this by refusing to participate in the health care exchanges, refusing
to expand Medicaid, and by protecting their citizens from the onerous
regulations. Georgia and South Carolina are just two examples of states that are pushing back on Obamacare and resisting federal efforts at socialized medicine.
Convention of States
Then there is the possibility of a Convention of States that will
propose amendments to the Constitution. The idea is based upon Article V
of the Constitution, which grants states the right to bypass Congress
and add amendments to the Constitution, if a certain percentage of
states can reach agreement in ratification.
Mark Levin has championed the idea with his latest book The Liberty Amendments.
In his book, he details some of the history and thought processes of
the Founders in providing this alternate method of amending the
Constitution, which is vital in order to reign in a renegade Congress
that is ignoring it’s constituents.
Levin suggests a few ideas for possible amendments that could be proposed at such a convention.
The governing body of one New Jersey town voted in favor of renaming
the local Kennedy Center after the current White House head — and
calling it the Barack Obama Center — and some residents aren’t exactly
happy.
Philly.com reported that the renaming came at the request
of Willingboro Township Mayor Jacqueline Jennings, after she recalled
how the black population in the region reacted with excitement at the
campaign and election of Mr. Obama.
“I think that people have a
sense of pride about him,” she told Philly.com. “We had so many new
people register to vote, people who had never voted before, people who
were disenfranchised. … All of a sudden, we had … people wrapping around
the buildings when the polls opened. It was a sense of history.
Everybody wanted to be a part of it.”
But plenty of local residents are upset at the town council’s name change.
Kristina Darlin wrote on the Burlington County Times Facebook page:
“What’s next — naming malls after terrorists since he negotiates with
them!! What a disgrace to America!!”
Lindsey Rotteau wrote, The
Blaze reported: “The only place his name should appear is in school
textbooks stating he was the worst president in our history. The only
CHANGE he made was making people not be proud to be an American!”
Meanwhile, graduates of the former John F. Kennedy High School expressed outrage over the name change, too.
“This
is an outrage and shouldn’t even be considered,” wrote Karen Lydon, The
Blaze reported. “The name should stay the way it is now honoring
President Kennedy!”
A Muslim-owned arts-and-crafts store in Dearborn, Michigan is forcing
its female Christian employees to wear traditional Islamic headscarves
while on the job.
According to local reports, Khilāf Krafts began requiring its eight
female employees to wear hijabs last week, following the U.S. Supreme
Court’s 5-4 decision in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, which gave religious rights to family-owned businesses.
Although five women working for the company are Muslims, the
remaining three are practicing Christians. The company has threatened to
fire any Christian woman who does not comply.
“My boss came in last Tuesday with a Koran in his hand and told us we
were dressed like harlots,” says Karen Anderson, 28, a five year
veteran of the company. “He gave us each a hijab and said if we didn’t
wear it we’d be unemployed.
“I’m a strong believer in Jesus Christ. But my husband passed a few
years ago and I need this job to support my kids. I don’t really have a
choice. I have to wear it.”
The Supreme Court’s majority opinion in the Hobby Lobby case allowed
the Christian-owned retail chain to opt out of a federal law requiring
employers to give female employees contraceptive coverage.
Although praised by conservative Christians, liberals fret that the
decision will allow companies with devout owners of any faith to opt out
of American laws they simply don’t like.
Liberal Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank, commenting
on President Obama’s dismal approval ratings, remarked sarcastically
that, “considering how miserable all of America is, a 39% approval
rating actually isn’t that bad.”
Milbank also characterized Obama as “very stubborn when it comes to
getting out there on the golf course,” observing that, while President
George W. Bush eventually gave up golfing, Obama has kept to his routine
in the face of biting criticism.
Milbank noted that Obama’s tenacity in golf provides a bit of a
contrast with his lack of resolve in “all the other things where he
seems to give a speech and then tiptoe away from it.”
“If he could be as stubborn as he is about continuing his golf game
about some of his domestic policies, I think we might get some results,”
Milbank said.
According to recent reports, Police are in the process of
investigating an incident involving a “dummy” wearing a mask of
President Obama’s face. The “dummy” was discovered hanging from a bridge
in Missouri on I-70 earlier this week.
The incident caused traffic to be shut down on the highway, given
concerns that there were suspicions that the dummy may have explosives
attached to it.
“The item that we had, we thought possible could have been
explosive,” Sgt. Ronda Montgomery told Fox4KC during an interview, “So
we went ahead and shut down I-70 in both directions to ensure that if it
was explosive, there was nothing that was going to cause a hazard to
any passersby, and once removed from the scene, we opened up I-70 almost
immediately.”
[The Muslim call to prayer is] “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” — Barack Obama
To borrow upon the famous quote from one of the world’s greatest
leaders, Winston Churchill, during the Battle of Britain and apply it to
President Barack Obama’s response to the Islamic threat that is ISIS:
Never in the field of human conflict was so much harm done to so many by
just one man.
Churchill and Obama: seldom have two names in one sentence been in
such contrast. There stood Churchill, a patriot with a distinguished
military record who wanted to take part in the invasion task force that
hit the beaches of Normandy only to be ordered not to by the King of
England. Churchill, was always at the ready to die for his country.
Churchill was striving for world democracy and freedom.
Then there is Obama who is, at the very least, sympathetic to Islam and its goal of global domination.
The most damning evidence against Obama has been his mishandling of
the Islamic State group: the most powerful jihad against Christians
since the Middle Ages. ISIS stands at the cusp of overrunning and
controlling the Mideast in a way that has not been seen since the
Ottoman Empire ruled the region 400 years ago.
Does Anyone In Government Read History?
ISIS is unlike any threat the United States has faced. It is
determined to build a united greater Arabia, and it may have the
petro-wealth and determination to do it. The group’s violence knows no
limits. Even al-Qaida has disavowed ISIS.
History is filled with revolutions upon which every cycle becomes more extreme, more violent.
During the French Revolution, Maximilien de Robespierre was a
prominent leader who was both celebrated for the reforms he brought and
despised for the terror that he helped instill — a terror so frightful
his own head was taken by the guillotine.
It was the same during the Iranian Revolution 35 years ago. Sadegh
Ghotbzadeh, who went on to become Ayatollah Khomeini’s foreign minister,
was part of the group of radicals who overthrew the Shah of Iran. Two
years later, Ghotbzadeh was executed, ostensibly for not being radical
enough. The same fate almost happened to the first president of Iran,
Abolhassan Bani-Sadr, who was also not seen as religious or righteous
enough and had to flee for his life to France where he is living out his
old age today.
Radical Islam is on the same path and the culmination of it to date
has been ISIS, which is not a group of fundamentalists whose goal is to
punish Westerners because of their presence in the Mideast but rather a
religious, political and military powerhouse that has been growing
unchecked since Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq at the end of 2011. Given
that Obama announced this move when he ran for President in 2008, all
ISIS has had to do was be patient. The result is a military force that
is overrunning Iraq’s much larger army and now has some of the best U.S.
military hardware. Its ultimate goal is not just to drive Westerners
from the Mideast, but to have Islam as the dominant religion with
sectarian systems of government around the world.
The brutal terrorist organization known as ISIS or ISIL, made up of
former al Qaeda fighters, has renamed itself the Islamic State. The name
"Islamic State" is self-explanatory and was chosen based on the group's
goal of establishing a caliphate by conquering as much land in the
middle east and around the world as possible, beheading and killing
anyone standing in their way.
Regardless of the terrorist group's own classification and stated
goals to implement and maintain an Islamist caliphate going back years,
the Obama administration wasn't worried about the "absurd" concept and
had no plans to stop it from happening according to then White House
Counter-Terrorism Advisor and current CIA Secretary John Brennen.
A Hezbollah official said on
Hezbollah-run television station Al-Manar that Israel’s attempt to
destroy tunnels in Gaza was ineffective, Israel Hayom reports.
“The Israeli prime minister was proud of destroying more than 30
tunnels, but in Gaza, there are more than 3,000 tunnels and a new tunnel
is dug every hour,” Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim
Qassem said.
He also addressed Palestinian criticism of Hezbollah for
not getting involved in the conflict by firing rockets at northern
Israel.
“Such an undertaking would work against the Palestinians, drawing
international criticism and justifying Israel’s continued aggression,”
he said.
Group waving Palestinian flags and shouting ‘free Palestine from
the river to the sea’ seize items they believe to be connected to
Israel.
A group of flag- and banner-waving
Palestinian supporters have entered a supermarket in Belfast, Northern
Ireland, and removed from the shelves items they claim have an
association to Israel.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, dozens of
protesters entered the Asda supermarket on Monday evening, with many
chanting pro-Palestinian slogans. They then began to remove the products
from the shelves.
Videos uploaded to YouTube by the protesters
show demonstrators draped in Palestinian flags and shouting “Boycott
Israeli goods” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” –
a Hamas slogan that advocates the elimination of Israel. The footage
also shows protesters, some accompanied by young children, loading a
variety of products into shopping trolleys.
Monday’s incident marked the second time that a group has entered a
supermarket and removed items they claim are connected to Israel from
the shelves, the Belfast Telegraph said.
Last week, the report said, dozens of people went into a Sainsbury’s
store in Belfast and took products, including by Coca Cola, from the
shelves. Again, the report said, many of the protesters were carrying
banners and Palestinian flags, and shouting “free Palestine.”
The blurb on one of the videos reads: “On
Monday, August 11 scores of people participated in an éirígí-organised
‘de-stocking’ of Israeli products, and the products of companies closely
associated with Israel, from the shelves of the ASDA supermarket in
West Belfast.
“Purchasing Israeli products provides
support to the Israeli economy, which in turn lends support to the
Israeli state and its murderous campaign against the Palestinian people.
Boycotting of Israeli goods sends a very strong economic and political
message to Israeli – ‘apartheid and genocide are not acceptable in our
world.
“Just like the apartheid regime of
South Africa, Israel is on the wrong side of history. For as long as
that regime exists right-thinking people across the world will organise
opposition to it.”
The conflict in Gaza has elicited fierce
pro-Palestinian responses across Europe, some of which have directly
targeted the Jewish communities in a number of countries.
In July, eight people were hurt when pro-Gaza
protesters tried to storm two synagogues in Paris. Earlier this month,
an American Jewish woman in Belgium called a doctor about a fractured
rib, and was told to “visit Gaza” to help get rid of the pain.
When the woman’s son called back to the
medical hotline the doctor was manning, the physician told him to “Send
her to Gaza for a few hours, then she’ll get rid of the pain.”
London is trying to put pressure on Jerusalem: the UK government announced that if the fighting in Gaza resumes, 12 contracts for exporting drone components, missiles, and body armors will be suspended. Britain emphasized that it will, in any case, continue the export for the Iron Dome system
Britain announced on Tuesday that it would suspend 12 licenses to export military items to Israel, if the fighting in Gaza resumes. Seniors in London expressed concerns that the British export, valued at around 13 billion dollars, may be used to breach international laws.
Last week the British warned that they were reviewing all military export to Israel following operation "Protective Edge". "The UK government has not been able to clarify if the export license criteria are being met", claimed Business Secretary Vincent Cable. "In light of that uncertainty, we have decided to suspend these export licenses in the event of a resumption of significant hostilities".
Britain sells Israel body armors, drone components and missile parts.
According to the British Trade Office announcement, the vast majority
of export to Israel is not for items that could be used directly in its
operations, but it did not publish the value of the licenses suspended.
Britain emphasized that the export of Iron Dome system parts will not be
suspended.
Spain suspended its weapon export to Israel
The government of Spain decided a week ago, to temporarily suspend
its weapon shipments to Israel, due to many deaths of citizens in Gaza.
According to the report, the decision to freeze the deals was reach
before the current cease-fire and even before the previous cease-fire
that lasted for an hour and a half.
OTTAWA - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird took to Twitter to
lambaste the United Nations for its choice of judge to lead an
investigation into potential war crimes in the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Baird
accused genocide and human rights expert William Schabas of being
biased against Israel and said the UN's inquiry will be a "sham."
"UN Human Rights Council continues to be a sham for advancing human rights," Baird tweeted Monday night.
"It's an utter shame and will do nothing to promote peace and dignity in Gaza for the Palestinian people."
Schabas has not been shy in his criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in particular.
He
once wrote in a law journal that Netanyahu is "the single individual
most likely to threaten the survival of Israel" and that he'd like to
see the Israeli leader "in the dock of the International Criminal
Court."
Baird tweeted that the appointment of Schabas as a lead member of the UN investigation team "reveals its agenda."
Baird's view was shared by Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch.
"Under
international law, Schabas is obliged to recuse himself because of his
repeated calls to indict Israeli leaders obviously gives rise to actual
bias or the appearance thereof," Neuer wrote on his blog Monday.
Schabas brushed off the criticisms and defended himself to the CBC, pointing to the fact he sits on the Israel Law Review.
