Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said the attack is imminent and not thwarted
Iraq's prime minister says his country's intelligence operation has uncovered a plot for an imminent attack on subway systems in the United States and Paris.Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said he was told of the plot by Baghdad on Thursday, and that it was the work of foreign fighters from ISIS in Iraq. Asked if the attack was imminent, he said, "Yes."
Asked if the attacked had been thwarted, he said, "No." Al-Abadi said the United States had been alerted.
He made the remarks at a meeting with journalists on the sidelines of a gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.
Berkeley students show support for terrorists murdering Jews: ‘Long live the intifada’
As my good friends at Weasel Zippers notes, it seems hating Jews is mandatory at the moonbat utopia known as the University of California at Berkeley.
On Wednesday, Truth Revolt said a gaggle of students and community members expressed their support for terrorists murdering Jews during a protest at the far-left wing campus Tuesday. Protestors can be seen in a video chanting “long live the intifada” and “we support the intifada,” Daniel Mael reported.Protesters can also be heard chanting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a chant that calls for genocide and the complete destruction of Israel.
According to Truth Revolt:
An intifada is defined literally as “uprising” or “resistance.” During Palestinian intifadas, attacks have included Islamist suicide bombers detonating themselves in public areas within Israel and have led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent men, women and children of all faiths. Not everyone at “Moonbat U.” supported the protest.
The rally was held in accordance with University of California at Berkeley professor and founder of the national student group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Hatem Bazian calling for an “International Day of Action” to boycott and protest the Jewish state. In the face of said bigotry, the pro-Israel group on campus, Tikvah Friends of Israel, organized an event titled “#CutTheTape” which advocated against boycotts and in favor of academic freedom.
“Chants like (‘Long live the Intifada’) and ‘From the River to the Sea Palestine Will Be Free’ made several students including myself feel very uncomfortable,” one student said. “With these chants, I feel as though they crossed the lines from a political protest to anti-Semitic protest.”
Indeed. As we’ve noted before, Nazi-like anti-Semitism is nothing new for the left, which increasingly sounds more like those who murdered six million Jews in the Holocaust. In fact, one can argue that the only difference between the Nazis who ran Germany and many modern American liberals is their native language.
Eric Holder Resigning as Attorney General
WASHINGTON
— Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will resign his post, the Justice
Department said Thursday. Mr. Holder will remain in office until a
successor is nominated and confirmed.
Mr.
Holder, the 82nd attorney general and the first African-American to
serve in that position, had previously said he planned to leave office
by the end of this year.
Particularly in President Obama’s second term, Mr. Holder has been the most prominent liberal voice of the administration.
The
Justice Department said Mr. Holder finalized his plans to leave in an
hourlong conversation with Mr. Obama at the White House over Labor Day
weekend.

Four Men in Two Cities Killed in Acts of Islamic Jihad; Media, Obama, and Holder Silent
Brendan Tevlin was a 19-year old from New Jersey who had just finished his freshman year at the University of Richmond. Like many kids his age, he played sports and video games. He also liked to surf. Brendan also played the bagpipes and was a Eucharistic minister at his church. But none of those things led to his tragic death. What led to Brendan’s death is that he was an American.
Ali Muhammad Brown, 29, was charged with the murder of 19-year old Brendan Tevlin on June 18th. Brown also confessed to killing two people, Ahmed Said and Dwone Anderson-Young, in Seattle on June 1. In addition, he was also charged with shooting another man, Leroy Henderson, in the Skyway area of Seattle in April. All of the men were killed with a 9 mm handgun.
There is consistency in Brown’s statement to police in both King County in Seattle, and Essex County, N.J. He told authorities that he was doing his small part as vengeance for U.S. actions in the Middle East.Q13 FOX in Seattle reports that Brown described the killing of Tevlin to authorities in New Jersey as a ‘just kill’ which he defined as as a target that was an adult male, not a woman, child or elderly person. Brown stated, ““My mission is vengeance. For the lives, millions of lives are lost every day,” he reportedly said. “Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, all these places where innocent lives are being taken every single day … All these lives are taken every single day by America, by this government. So a life for a life.”
Todd Pettingill, radio host of The Todd Show in the Morning, on 95,5 in New York, discussed this jihad killings on his radio show. He said, “If there was ever a reason to riot in the streets in the name of humanity, it would be for this case. But, has that happened? No. And I’m not suggesting that it should. What did the friends of family of Brendan Tevlin do? They had a candlelight vigil. What I am suggesting should happen is that this should be talked about and written about and the American people should know. Why is Eric Holder not visiting the Tevlin family? Why is the President not going to mention Brendan Tevlin tonight? He was a young boy who was killed…for being an American.”
In addition to calling out Holder and Obama for their failure to give any attention to these jihad killings that were done on American soil, Pettingill also said, “It was in fact an act of jihad, perpetrated by a fellow American who sympathized more with those who want to annihilate us than with his own country and its people.”
But, with ISIS on a bloody killing spree in the Middle East in their quest to establish a caliphate and their threats to take their attacks onto American soil, the only Brown the media wants to talk is Michael Brown. The media and Congress want to put more emphasis on the domestic abuse case surrounding Ray Rice than acts of jihad in America with men being killed simply for being an American. And Barack Obama wants to deny the severity of ISIS and, in fact, refuse to even recognize that they are dangerous Islamic terrorists who kill innocent people. Perhaps Obama should pay attention to the news more often. He would learn that not only do people kill innocents in the name of Islam, but it is happening already right here in the United States.
Iran’s Rouhani blames ‘certain intelligence agencies’ for rise of global extremism
The rise of violent extremism around the world is the fault of “certain states” and “intelligence agencies” that have helped to create it and are failing to withstand it, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in an address to the UN General Assembly.Speaking at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly on Thursday, Rouhani stressed that extremism is not a regional but a global issue, and called on states worldwide to unite against the extremists.
“Certain states have helped to create it, and are now failing to withstand it. Currently our peoples are paying the price," he said. "Certain intelligence agencies have put blades in the hand of the madmen, who now spare no one.”
Rouhani also said the current anti-Western sentiment in certain parts of the world was "the offspring ofyesterday's colonialism. Today's anti-Westernism is a reaction to yesterday's racism.”
Hamas Just Gave Up Control Of Gaza
Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah reached an agreement today by which the unity government run by President Mahmoud Abbas would take control of the Gaza Strip, negotiators in Egyptian-mediated reconciliation talks told reporters.Officials from the rival groups were meeting in Cairo to try to overcome their differences and strengthen their hand for talks with Israel slated for late next month.
The Gaza ceasefire struck in August between Israel and the Palestinians included stipulations that the Palestinian Authority, led by Abbas, should take over civil administration in Gaza from Hamas. But a dispute over the Palestinian Authority's non-payment of salaries to Gaza's public sector workers brought tensions between the two main Palestinian factions to near-breaking point.
"All civil servants will be paid by the unity government because they are all Palestinians and it is the government of all Palestinians," said Azzam Ahmed of Abbas' Fatah movement. Moussa Abu Marzouk, chairman of Hamas' political bureau, said control of Gaza's border crossings, another contentious issue, would lie with the United Nations in addition to the unity government.
"The United Nations will come to an agreement with Israel and the unity government on how to run the crossings," Marzouk said. He added that Rafah border crossing with Egypt was not part of the talks.
Clinton Aides Follow Reporters To The Bathroom At CGI
New York Times reporter Amy Chozick said a Clinton aide followed her to the bathroom while she was covering the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting in New York on Wednesday. In what the Washington Post called an episode that “reflects the dark and, frankly, paranoid view the Clintons have toward the national media,” Chozick received a dismissive answer after inquiring about the Clinton team’s practice of hovering over reporters:
An escort is required wherever we go, lest one of us with our yellow press badges wind up somewhere where attendants with an esteemed blue badge are milling around. When asked about the practice, Craig Minassian, a spokesman for the initiative, directed me to a press release about American Standard’s Flush for Good campaign to improve sanitation for 3 million people in the developing world.Reporters following the Clintons on their presumptive campaign trail have described a Clinton machine that “always assumes the worst of the press horde and acts accordingly,” according to the Washington Post.
“Since you are so interested in bathrooms and C.G.I,” Minassian said.
Report: Romney Seriously Considering 2016 Run
Don’t look now, but Mitt Romney is looking at a third run for the White House.According to the Washington Examiner’s Byron York, Romney has been talking about the possibility with advisers, consulting with his family, and keeping an eye on fellow Republicans that could run in 2016.
“That doesn’t mean he will decide to do it, but it does mean that Mitt 2016 is a real possibility,” writes York.
York also reports that much of Romney’s infrastructure in 2012 remains intact, as many of his fundraisers and staffers during the unsuccessful run have decided to remain on the sidelines for 2016 until Romney makes a decision to run or not.
If Romney does run, though, many of these staffers expect a change among his top strategists, Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer, whom many blame for the governors defeat in two years ago.
Romney has repeatedly denied running for president, though he and his wife Ann have both made subtle suggestions that they are indeed looking at another run.
Obama Praises Muslim Cleric Who Backed Fatwa on Killing of U.S. Soldiers
President Barack Obama favorably quoted and praised on Wednesday in his speech before the United Nations a controversial Muslim cleric whose organization has reportedly endorsed the terror group Hamas and supported a fatwa condoning the murder of U.S. soldiers in Iraq.Obama in his remarks offered praise to controversial cleric Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah and referred to him as a moderate Muslim leader who can help combat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s (ISIL or ISIS) radical ideology.
However, Bin Bayyah himself has long been engulfed in controversy for many of his views, including the reported backing of a 2004 fatwa that advocated violent resistance against Americans fighting in Iraq.
This is not the first time that the Obama administration has extoled Bin Bayyah, who also has served as the vice president of a Muslim scholars group founded by a radical Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called “for the death of Jews and Americans,” according to Fox News and other reports.
The State Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau (CT) was forced to issue multiple apologies earlier this year after the Washington Free Beacon reported on its promotion of Bin Bayyah on Twitter.
“This should not have been tweeted and has since been deleted,” the CT Bureau tweeted at the time after many expressed anger over the original endorsement of Bin Bayyah.
However, it appears that Obama and the White House are still supportive of Bin Bayyah, who, despite his past statements, is still hailed by some as a moderate alternative to ISIL and al Qaeda.
“The ideology of ISIL or al Qaeda or Boko Haram will wilt and die if it is consistently exposed, confronted, and refuted in the light of day,” Obama said before the U.N., according to a White House transcript of his remarks.
“Look at the new Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies—Sheikh bin Bayyah described its purpose: ‘We must declare war on war, so the outcome will be peace upon peace,’” Obama said, quoting the controversial cleric.
Concern over the administration’s relationship with Bin Bayyah started as early as 2013, when outrage ensued after he was reported to have met with Obama’s National Security Council staff at the White House.
While Bin Bayyah has condemned the actions of groups such as Boko Haram and ISIL, he also has taken controversial positions against Israel.
He issued in 2009 a fatwa “barring ‘all forms of normalization’ with Israel,” according to a Fox report on the White House meeting.
Additionally, the notorious 2004 fatwa permitting armed resistance against U.S. military personnel in Iraq reportedly stated that “resisting occupation troops” is a “duty” for all Muslims, according to reports about the edict.
Patrick Poole, a reporter and terrorism analyst who has long tracked Bin Bayyah, expressed shock that the Obama administration would endorse the cleric on the world stage.
D.C. Whispers: Barack Obama’s Outraged Tantrum During Military Briefing
This outburst reportedly took place in the afternoon of last week just prior to the president’s departure to Camp David. It was an informal briefing on the expanded bombing campaigns to take place in both Syria and Iraq. Halfway through the already very brief briefing, President Obama stood up clearly agitated, and walked out of the room…
( Don’t you dare “…try and paint all of Islam with the same brush!”)The casually dressed Obama returned to the briefing moments later with a senior adviser alongside him, though his mood continued to indicate he was still very upset.
The senior adviser made a couple pointed remarks to the Pentagon representatives, reminded them the president had already had a very busy day, and then both she and the president once again left the room.
Within seconds, Barack Obama returned again to the just concluded briefing, pointing at the still seated Pentagon staff and indicating how “inappropriate” it was to “try and paint all of Islam with the same brush.” The president repeated similar remarks, his mood going from agitation to outrage. His voice carried to several other West Wing offices.
The senior adviser, who did not originally return with the president into the briefing, suddenly re-appeared alongside him, as well as the president’s personal aide. She was smiling, and telling everyone “we’re done here” which she repeated several times and then led the president back out into the hallway.
News of the outburst reached senior Pentagon officials. They had no reaction. At least no reaction they shared with others.
Within the hour the president was flying off to Camp David, and not long after that, bombs were dropping in Syria.
