Update as of 05.54 a.m. EDT: There was a second shooting incident near Ferguson overnight, as an off-duty officer’s car was shot at, injuring him with flying glass. Three suspects reportedly fired into the officer’s car. He was not struck by bullets, and is being treated for light injuries from glass at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles times reports on the circumstances in which the officer who was shot earlier in Ferguson sustained his wound. St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told the paper that the officer confronted two males leaving the Ferguson Community Center about 9 p.m. The officer chased the men and as he approached them, shots were fired at the officer, who raised his arm and was hit in the left arm, Belmar said.

A police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, was shot late Saturday evening, local media reports said. The officer’s wounds are not said to be life threatening, according to a police spokesperson. The injured officer’s identity was not immediately made public.
The Ferguson police department’s Tim Zoll told KDSK news that the officer was shot in the arm. St. Louis Post Dispatch reporter Christine Byers tweeted that the officer was shot at a business in Ferguson.

Beheading Suspect Awake in Hospital, Will Be Charged with First-Degree Murder

The man accused of brutally beheading a former co-worker and stabbing another at a food processing plant near Oklahoma City is now awake in the hospital.

Police say that Alton Nolen - a 30-year-old recent convert to Islam who had just been fired from Vaughan Foods - will be charged with first-degree murder.
The COO of the company, Mark Vaughan, who is also a sheriff’s deputy, is being hailed as a hero after shooting Nolen to halt the horrifying attack.

Muslim Beheads Woman in Broad Daylight

82-year-old Palmira Silva, who detectives believe is of Italian descent, was found beheaded at a house in a north London suburb on Thursday, British media reported, in an incident that police said did not appear to be terrorist related.

“Whilst it is too early to speculate on what the motive behind this attack was I am confident, based on the information currently available to me, that it is not terrorist related,” said Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin who is leading the investigation.

Police said that a 25 year old man had been taken in to custody on suspicion of the murder. Officers at the scene said they had to use a stun gun. One officer suffered a suspected broken wrist during the arrest.

Prior to the murder there were  two other people at a house on the same street that had the same encounter, but they escaped unharmed.

Another man who lives near the scene said he learned from other neighbors that a man carrying a machete had been seen in a series of back gardens on the road before the killing.

“My neighbor, who works nights, said she was woken by noise from a man in her back garden. He had a machete,” said Isik Saban.

The reported nature of the killing had prompted speculation that the murder might be a terrorism incident after last year’s gruesome murder of a British soldier in London, and the recent release of videos by Islamic State jihadists showing two U.S. journalists being beheaded apparently by a British national.

Democrat Rep. Donates Cash To Hamas-Linked Group

A Democratic congressman has donated funds to a political group that was implicated in a criminal fund-raising operation for the jihad group, Hamas.
“Thank you Congressman James Moran for his generous personal donation to @CAIRNational at #CAIRturns20,” said a tweet from Linda Sarsour, the host at a Sept. 27 fund-raiser for the jihad-linked Council on American Islamic Relations.
Sarsour did not say how much money the Democrat donated.
Moran is a Democrat who represents the Alexandria district in northern Virginia. He’s not running for reelection in 2014.
The Islamic group also gave the Democrat a “Lifetime Achievement Award” during the fundraising event, which provided CAIR with at least $350,000.
Critics say the Democrat has repeatedly suggested that Jews are responsible for starting various wars in the Arab countries.

MSNBC's Sharpton Keynoting Dinner For Group Linked to Hamas

MSNBC host Al Sharpton will be the keynote speaker at the Council on American-Islamic Relations's (CAIR) 20th anniversary banquet on Saturday. Sharpton, who is President Obama's "go-to man on race," and who claims to be helping the White House pick outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder's successor, will be a guest of honor of the group, which was listed as a co-conspirator in a criminal case against an Islamic charity that raised millions for Hamas.
Back in January 2009, shortly after the President's first inauguration, the FBI severed ties with CAIR "in the wake of a 15-year...investigation that culminated with the conviction in December [2008] of Hamas fundraisers at a trial where CAIR itself was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator," according to a report at the time by Fox News's Joseph Abrams. The correspondent noted that "CAIR's executive director, Nihad Awad...was shown to have participated in planning meetings with the Holy Land Foundation, five officials of which were convicted in December of funneling $12.4 million to Hamas."
Abrams later reported that "prosecutors identified CAIR's chairman emeritus, Omar Ahmad, as an unindicted co-conspirator in that trial, and [FBI] Special Agent Lara Burns testified that CAIR was a front group for radical organizations operating in the U.S."

President Barack Obama proudly declared 10 million jobs have been created during his tenure - but failed to mention that 4.3 million were lost in his first year.

In a speech at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in Washington, he addressed America's 'unfinished work' including racial divisions, education, healthcare, and international crises.

But he also declared 'there is almost no economic measure by which we are not better off since I took office'.

He said: 'After the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, our businesses have created 10 million new jobs over the last 54 months.

'This is the longest uninterrupted stretch of job growth in our history.'

However, with a loss of 4.3 million jobs in 2009 following the economic crash, the net gain only amounts to 4.9 million jobs created - less than half the amount cited.

Paris ban on Muslim street prayers comes into effect

A ban on saying prayers in the street, a practice by French Muslims unable to find space in mosques, has come into effect in the capital, Paris.

Interior Minister Claude Gueant has offered believers the use of a disused fire brigade barracks instead.
The phenomenon of street prayers, which see Muslims spreading mats on footpaths, became a political issue after far right protests.
France is home to the biggest Muslim minority in Western Europe.
By some estimates, as many as six million French people, or just under 10% of the population, are Muslims, with origins in France’s former North African colonies.
Their integration has been a source of political debate in recent years, and earlier this year France became the first EU state to ban the wearing of the Islamic veil in public.
‘Mosques co-operating’

Many worshippers have been positive about the new space

The new ban came into force at midnight (22:00 GMT) on Thursday, in time for traditional Muslim Friday prayers.
Speaking earlier this week to Le Figaro, Mr Gueant said about 1,000 people were using two streets in the capital’s multi-ethnic Goutte d’Or district for prayers.
He said an agreement had been reached with two local mosques for the state to rent out the disused barracks on Boulevard Ney with floorspace of 2,000 sq m (yds) for three years.
To encourage believers to use the new space, prayers would not be held inside the existing mosques for the first few weeks.
He said he did not believe force would have to be used to impose the ban because dialogue was “bearing fruit”.
An overseer at the barracks said the space, with a capacity of 2,000, was full.
“It’s the beginning of a solution,” Sheikh Mohammed Salah Hamza told Reuters news agency. “The faithful are very pleased to be here. ”
“I think it’s great. It’s good. Before they used to pray outside and that wasn’t good at all,” Kaddar Abdelkader, who used to pray in the street, told the BBC.

Danish Muslim Party claims that Denmark will be the first Muslim nation in Europe

The dreams of the Muslim world go far beyond the expanding borders of the Islamic State in the Middle East and Boko Haram in Africa.

A website claiming to be the Danish Muslim Party (DAMP) published a “press release” in English and Danish, saying that Denmark will be the first Muslim nation in Europe.
The website also stated as follows:
“[W]e can assure you that everything will be better in muslim Denmark: No drugs, no crime, peace, and humanity- instead of drug culture, immorality, possibly human rights crimes and violence which we have now.”
“Every immigrant or muslim in danish jails should be released from prisons, because it is possible that there has been plotting or framing or provocation towards them – and all cases should be investigated againcarefully.”
“Muslim party will be biggest party of Denmark – and it may be soon. First day after Turkey becomes EU member country – about one million 20-50 year old Muslims [may] move to Denmark, and after that Denmark [may] be a muslim country. Be ready!”
“Danish Muslim party’s only agenda is to get Muslims into Danish politics and into the parliament, no matter what our ideas and religious or political beliefs are.”

Muslim Terrorists Kill More than One Thousand Christians in One Bloody Day

The Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram has declared a new Islamic caliphate in northeaster Nigeria, modeled after the caliphate being created by ISIS in Syria and Iraq. Because of the sheer monstrosity of Boko Haram, tens of thousands of people – Christians in particular – are fleeing the region.
Catholic Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme of Maiduguri says, “in areas whereBoko Haram is active Christians are fleeing by the thousands. ” He reported that at least 90,000 Catholics are now displaced by the Islamist rebels who are challenging the sovereignty of the Nigerian government. 
Father Patrick Tor Alumuku is the Social Communications officer in the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria. He is reporting that Boko Haram is involved in some savage brutality against Christians in the region that they hold.

“Boko Haram is determined to eliminate every sign of Christian presence and many churches have been destroyed or torched. Last week in a village in the area ofMaiduguri, Boko Haram took over the parish for its local headquarters,” said Father Alumuku.
Attorney and human rights activist Emmanuel Ogebe told Spero News that, “Our local partner's female cousin is amongst those killed by Boko Haram indicating that they are killing Christian women too which is different from the takeover of Gwoza. In Gwoza, they beheaded Christian men and married off their wives when they declared an Islamic caliphate two weeks ago. According to Boko Haram's own video, Abubakar Shekau claims he killed 1,000 Christians on that day. This has not been reported in the media as far as we can tell but is contained in his YouTube statement. We are investigating this but since he controls the town it is impossible to tell. If true this is the worst single day massacre of Christians anywhere in contemporary history.”

ISIS Destroys 1300-Year-Old Church, Oldest Islamic Shrine in Iraq

BBC Arabic reports that the terrorists of the Islamic State, in full control of the Iraqi city of Tikrit, have destroyed two of its most ancient religious sites: the 1300-year-old Assyrian Green Church and the ancient Forty Shrine mosque.

According to the Assyrian International News Agency, which translated the BBC's Arabic-language report, Islamic State terrorists surrounded both buildings with explosives and completely leveled them. The Assyrian Green Church is believed to have been built in 700 A.D. and was considered among the most elaborate and beautiful ancient Christian sites in Iraq. The Church, AINA notes, had been condemned to destruction in 1089 by the Muslim then-governor of the region but survived and was ultimately restored under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein.
The Forty Shrine mosque, AINA reports, was the "oldest Islamic religious shrine in Iraq." It, too, fell under the pressure of explosives, as well as the tombs surrounding the mosque itself, which AINA notes were believed to have held the remains of 40 comrades of the Prophet Muhammad. It is believed to be as old if not older than the Green Church.

'Eat pork or go hungry': France's National Front leader tells school canteens to stop offering religious alternatives to Muslim children

Far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen said on Friday it would prevent schools from offering non-pork alternatives to Muslim pupils in the 11 towns it won in local elections, saying such arrangements were contrary to France's secular values.
France's republic has a strict secular tradition enforceable by law, but faith-related demands have risen in recent years, especially from the country's five-million-strong Muslim minority, the largest in Europe.
'We will not accept any religious demands in school menus,' Le Pen told RTL radio. 'There is no reason for religion to enter the public sphere, that's the law.'
Pork is forbidden under Jewish and Muslim dietary laws.

The mayor of Arveyres, Benoit Gheysens told AFP the move was being taken because of the cost of providing alternative meals, many of which went to waste.
'Often children who did not take the substitute dinner complained as well and left the pork. It distressed the staff to see how much food was wasted,' Gheysens said.

World leaders call for end of United Nations veto power

NEW YORK – World leaders demanded Security Council reform during their addresses to the UN General Assembly over the past few days, calling for the addition of more permanent and non-permanent seats on the council and the elimination of the veto.

“The world is bigger than five,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his speech during the General Debate, referencing the five countries with veto power – the US, Britain, France, China, and Russia.

Heads of state from across the globe echoed his call for immediate reform.

The status quo has made the governing body inefficient, Peru’s President Ollanta Humala Tasso said. He asked for the addition of more permanent and non-permanent members, which, he said, should result in a more democratic process.

“The Security Council’s capacity to respond to the different crises in different parts of the world reflects the need for reforming its work methodology,” he said.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe pleaded his case for Japan’s acceptance as a permanent member of the Security Council. Since joining the UN in 1956, he said, Japan has worked tirelessly to advance the causes of the UN.

“It is my wish... [that] countries sharing the same aims all work together to finally resolve a long-standing issue to reform the UN in a way that reflects the realities of the 21st century,” he said.

Discussions about council reform have been ongoing for years. France’s foreign minister first floated the idea of a “code of conduct” for the veto in 2001.

During his speech last year to the General Assembly, French President François Hollande called on the five powers to agree on a set of scenarios in which the veto should not be used, notably when resolutions address mass atrocities.

Former General Assembly president John Ashe, whose term just ended with the conclusion of the assembly’s 68th session, made Security Council reform a priority on his agenda.

He called for a permanent seat on the council for an African delegation.
