ALERT: China Moves 12,000 Troops to Russian Border

According to a Russian media report, at least 12,000 heavily armed Chinese troops have been moved to the border with Russia as tensions in the region continue to build.

The report cites the Russian FSB Border service as saying that Beijing began dispatching troops to the border on September 6, with 12-15,000 soldiers making the trip backed by heavy artillery.
According to a translated quote that the report attributes to a Russian border representative, it is not yet clear why the troops have been concentrated on the border but that “something smells bad.”
It remains to be seen whether the reported Chinese troops movements are related to large scale Russian nuclear drills set to take place on the Chinese border later this month.
Russia and China have been forging closer links in recent weeks and months, with the two super powers recently signing a $400bn deal for Gazprom to supply gas from Russia to China, the biggest natural gas deal sealed by Moscow since the collapse of the USSR. Work on the construction of the pipeline began last week.
Tensions between Russia and NATO flared last week when General Yury Yakubov, a senior Defense Ministry official, said that part of Russia’srevision to its military doctrine would include treating the United States and its NATO allies as an enemy threat against which preemptive nuclear strikes could be launched.
Last week NATO also approved a “rapid response force” of 3,500 troops that would be situated at bases in Poland, Romania, and the Baltic states in a move that was widely seen as a further aggressive escalation aimed at Moscow.

Russian intercontinental nuclear missile successfully tested

Russia carried out a successful test of its new Bulava intercontinental nuclear missile on Wednesday and will perform two more test launches in October and November, the head of its naval forces said.
The armed forces have boosted their military training and test drills since the start of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, which Russia considers in its traditional sphere of influence.
The 12-metre long Bulava, or mace, has undergone numerous tests, some successful, and can deliver an impact of up to 100 times the atomic blast that devastated Hiroshima in 1945.
Naval Commander-in-Chief Admiral Viktor Chirkov said the test launch had been carried out from the White Sea and that the test missile had hit its target in Russia's far east.
"In October and November of this year, the naval fleet will carry out two more launches with two rocket cruisers equipped with ballistic missiles," Interfax quoted Chirkov as saying.
A Bulava missile weighs 36.8 tonnes and can travel 8,000 km and hold six to 10 nuclear warheads.

Putin says new weapons needed

President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that Russia has no intention to launch a new arms race, but will respond to all security challenges.

Addressing a meeting in Moscow on weapons modernization plans, Putin said Russia will focus on developing new strategic nuclear weapons, aerospace defences and high-precision conventional weapons.

He said potential threats to Russia's security must be thoroughly analyzed, and an "adequate response" given to each of them. Putin added that Russia shouldn't hike its military spending beyond its economic capabilities.

Russia-West relations have plunged to their lowest point since the Cold War times over the crisis in Ukraine. A NATO summit last week decided to create a rapid-reaction "spearhead" force to protect Eastern Europe from Russian bullying. Putin said that the West used the Ukrainian crisis to "resuscitate NATO."

Of all the wrong numbers Department of Justice aide Brian Fallon could have made, few could be worse than the man investigating the scandal he was trying to bury. According to a letter House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa sent to Attorney General Eric Holder, that is precisely what happened last Friday.

Breitbart reported that Fallon apparently called Issa’s office mistakenly and began asking for assistance in releasing potentially damaging documents from his investigation into the IRS early in an effort to beat investigators to the punch in shaping the public’s reaction. Absurdly, the very individual such a scheme was designed to stymie was the man Fallon called with the request.
Issa suggested that Fallon likely intended to call the office of Rep. Elijah Cummings, who serves as the oversight committee’s ranking Democrat. His reference to “the majority” (i.e., the Republican Party) as the target of the plot suggests he believed he was talking to someone in the other party.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) and Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.) wants to limit the First Amendment, first passed as part of The Bill of Rights December 15, 1791.
A cloture motion was agreed to Monday evening 79-18 for SJR 19, a proposed constitutional amendment that would effectively amend the First Amendment. Reid said the proposal is about “restoring freedom of speech for everyone.”

“Their constitutional amendment is about restoring freedom of speech for everyone in America, whether you’re a billionaire, a millionaire, upper middle class, middle class, lower middle class, poor, homeless,” The Senate Majority Leader said of the proposed amendment.
The proposed amendment, authored by Udall and sponsored by 45 other Senate Democrats including Reid, would be the 28th amendment of the United States Constitution.  It reads as follows:
Article- Section 1.  To advance democratic self-government and political equality, and to protect the integrity of government and the electoral process, Congress and the States may regulate and set reasonable limits on the raising and spending of money by candidates and others to influence elections.
Section 2.  Congress and the States shall have power to implement and enforce this article by appropriate legislation, and may distinguish between natural persons and corporations or other artificial entities created by law, including by prohibiting such entities from spending money to influence elections.
Section 3.  Nothing in this article shall be construed to grant Congress or the States the power to abridge the freedom of the press.
The law targets 2010’s Citizens United v. FEC, which struck down limits on money in politics, and 2014’s McCutcheon v. FEC, which struck down limits on aggregate limits to the amount an individual could contribute to all candidates, political parties, and political-action committees (PACs) during a two year time span.
If passed, Congress and the states would have authorization to regulate and limit fundraising and spending on federal candidates, The Hill reports.  Furthermore, The United States Supreme Court would not be able to reverse any future campaign finance legislation passed by Congress.
Theodore Olson, former United States Solicitor General and now a partner with Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher, slammed the proposal in The Wall Street Journal op-ed Sunday (prior to the cloture vote), saying “Voters, whatever their political views, should rise up against politicians who want to dilute the Bill of Rights to perpetuate their tenure in office.”

New WaPo/ABC News poll: Majority thinks Obama is failing at just about everything

Ugly news for the President and his party...
Here we go. As we get closer to November, we're going to see more and more polling and - at least so far - most of it is looking pretty ugly for Democrats. Today's numbers come to us from a new Washington Post / ABCNews poll.  For the most part, it's chock full of bad news for the Dems.  However, the GOP shouldn't be in celebratory mode just yet.
First up, we have the President's terrible approval ratings.  As you can see, the numbers are dismal. Whether you're talking about the economy, foreign policy, immigration, or ObamaCare implementation, he's deeply underwater.
New WaPo/ABC News poll: Majority thinks Obama is failing at just about everything
At best, he's at a 9 point disadvantage in these numbers.  Most of them show the President with a double-digit disapproval margin.  That may have something to do with his leadership abilities ...or lack thereof.
New WaPo/ABC News poll: Majority thinks Obama is failing at just about everything
So President Obama's numbers are in the dumper.  The big question is "what will that mean for November?" Historically, the results of 6th year midterms tie pretty tightly to the public's opinion of the president in power.  But let’s take a look at the Congressional numbers because they're interesting.
While no one is particularly satisfied with the job Congress is doing, Democrats are faring better than the GOP.
New WaPo/ABC News poll: Majority thinks Obama is failing at just about everything
My take on this? While it's not good news for Republicans, I suspect the GOP number skews lower because members of their own party are angry at the job they've been doing. If you write about politics for a living, you meet a lot of people - from every corner of the political spectrum - and the one constant is that the GOP rank-and-file blames its own officials for the party's failings. I honestly can't remember the last time I met a Republican who would even try to make the argument that congressional Republicans were doing a decent job.

Breitbart News Targeted by Obama IRS With Audit

Breitbart News,  one of the most successful new media news outlets in America, is being targeted for audit by the Obama IRS, the same bureaucracy under fire for politically targeting political opponents of Democrat President Barack Obama.

Stephen K. Bannon, executive chairman of Breitbart News Network, told FOX News in a written statement, “The Obama administration’s timing on this is exquisite, but try as they might through various methods to silence us, we will only get more emboldened,” he promised.

Breitbart News was founded by the late Andrew Breitbart, who mysteriously passed away in 2012 while walking near his home in Brentwood, California, after he publicly announced that an upcoming story soon to be published would have consequences to the Obama administration.

The passionate and brash Andrew Breitbart, a former liberal progressive who wrote “Righteous Indignation: Excuse me While I Save the World!” in 2011, was driven to start his new media empire to take on what he often referred to as the “Democrat Media Complex,” and was pivitol in bringing down Obama-favored communist front group ACORN, former Democrat Congressman Anthony Weiner for his “sexting” scandal, and exposing the Pigford scheme.

GOP’s Benghazi committee prepares for media spotlight

The rising threat from Islamic extremists has set the stage for Republicans to make a splash with the launch of their Benghazi investigation next week.
The media glare had largely fallen away from the probe into the terror attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead.

But with the second anniversary of the attack looming on Thursday, and a new book by U.S. security contractors claiming a CIA station chief ordered them to “stand down” during the assault, the start of the investigation into Benghazi is poised to become a major event.“ISIS has now woken up the American people to the fact that the threat is real, and Benghazi is certainly symptomatic of that,” said Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas), who is not a member of the Benghazi panel, in an interview.
In particular, lawmakers said the lessons learned from Benghazi would have to be part of the conversation as President Obama and Congress confront the challenge of protecting U.S. citizens and facilities that have been targeted by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
The House Foreign Affairs Committee is holding a hearing Wednesday morning on the continued violence in Libya, giving Republicans another forum to raise questions about Benghazi.
Even Democrats, who have dismissed the GOP-led investigation as a political stunt, acknowledged that interest in next week’s Benghazi hearing is likely to be high.

House Officially Defies Obama For This Major Criminal Act [DETAILS]

The House of Representatives just voted to formally rebuke Barack Obama for illegally freeing five terrorists from Guantanamo Bay without notifying Congress within the amount of time required by law.

The bipartisan vote was 249-163, with 22 Democrats joining the Republicans in formally condemning Obama’s illegal bypass of Congress.

The law requires that the president give Congress a 30-day notice before prisoners are released or transferred from GITMO. The nonpartisan Government Accountability recently confirmed that Obama’s Bergdahl swap was in fact illegal.

The question is, however, a simple one: Why were five Taliban commanders released in exchange for someone whose platoon mates openly say is a deserter? Today’s rebuke was merely over the procedural aspect of the deal, but why is the substance of this treasonous act not being challenged by Congress?

Make no mistake, it’s good to see Congress fighting Obama’s blatantly illegal actions on one aspect of this horrible trade with terrorists, but our nation’s representatives should be taking action against Obama for the substance of the act itself: a negotiation with terrorists that put fighters back onto the battlefield to kill US soldiers.

Four Maywood Firefighters Suspended Over Refusal To Remove American Flag Decals

(CBS) — Four Maywood firefighters have been relieved of duty, and more could be suspended Wednesday, for refusing to remove American flag decals from their helmets and lockers.
The four refused to comply with an order issued last week by Chief Craig Bronaugh to remove all stickers from their helmets and lockers. The four drew the line when it came to the flag decals.
A representative from Service Employees International Union Local 73, which represents the firefighters, met for an hour with Chief Bronaugh Tuesday afternoon, with the union hoping Chief Bronaugh would modify his order. Instead, he ordered the firefighters sent home immediately, pending disciplinary action.

ISIS tie to Boston mosque 'massive FBI failure'

'Politically correct refusal to confront the ideological underpinnings'

The revelation that the top propagandist for the jihadist group ISIS was a member of the mosque attended by the brothers who carried out the Boston Marathon bombings is a telling indictment of the U.S. government’s approach to terrorism, according to analysts of Islamic jihad and counter-terrorism.
“This is just another indication of the massive failure of the FBI’s politically correct refusal to confront the ideological underpinnings of Islamic jihad terror,” Jihad Watch Director Robert Spencer told WND.
In keeping with that approach, Spencer said, the government has shown a “reluctance to monitor or investigate mosques, or do much of anything with them beyond conducting ‘outreach’ programs,” to improve its relationship with the Muslim community.

Spencer was responding to a New York Post report that Ahmad Abousamra – who is now the top propagandist for ISIS, also known as the Islamic State – was a regular worshipper at the Cambridge mosque. The Post reported Abousamra’s father even sat on the board of directors of the Muslim organization that runs the mosque.
Abousamra, the FBI suspects, now operates the jihadist group’s sophisticated English-language propaganda campaign, which features videos of beheadings and other atrocities. The campaign has helped attract at least 300 American jihadists and thousands from other Western nations. ISIS has beheaded American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff and has threatened to kill a British hostage, David Haines.
Spencer noted it was only for “outreach” programs that the FBI ever visited the Islamic Society of Boston before the Boston Marathon attack. That was despite the warnings from the Russian government about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston bomber killed in a shootout with police, and the presence of other jihadists. His younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, awaits trial for the April 15, 2013, attack, which killed three people and injured an estimated 264.

“The feds assumed that all those terrorists misunderstood the peaceful teachings they figured that they heard at the Islamic Society of Boston and wouldn’t have dreamed of considering whether or not they learned their Islam from the ISB,” Spencer said.
“How many people have to die before this nonsensical approach is discarded?” he asked.

Pres Bush’s Prophetic Iraq Warning

Remember this? Chillingly prophetic words from then-President George W.
Bush in 2007 on what might happen if U.S. troops were pulled out of Iraq too early.
Do you think he was right? Watch and weigh in:
