N. Korea threatens nuclear strike on White House
A top-ranking North Korean military official has threatened a nuclear strike on the White House and Pentagon after accusing Washington of raising military tensions on the Korean peninsula.
The threat came from Hwang Pyong-So, director of the military's General Political Bureau, during a speech to a large military rally in Pyongyang Sunday on the anniversary of the armistice that ended the 1950-53 Korean War.Hwang, who holds the rank of vice marshal in the Korean People's Army, said a recent series of - drills, one of which included the deployment of a nuclear-powered US aircraft carrier, had ramped up tensions.
"If the US imperialists threaten our sovereignty and survival... our troops will fire our nuclear-armed rockets at the White House and -- the sources of all evil," Hwang said in his speech broadcast Monday on state television.
It is not the first time that 's bellicose rhetoric has included threats of nuclear strikes on the continental United States and US bases in the Pacific.
But most experts believe it is still a long way from developing a viable intercontinental ballistic missile with the required range.
has conducted three nuclear tests, but is not thought to have mastered the miniaturisation techniques necessary for mounting a warhead on a missile.
It does possess a range of short-and mid-range missiles capable of striking South Korea and , and has conducted a series of test firings into the Sea of Japan (East Sea) in recent weeks.
The latest test on Saturday -- guided by the leader -- simulated a short-range missile strike on South Korea where 28,500 US troops are stationed, the North's state media said.
It defied censure by the UN Security Council which officially condemned Pyongyang on July 17 over the recent tests as violations of UN resolutions prohibiting the North from using ballistic missile technology.

The last eight years have been extremely tough on middle-class Americans.
Real wages have stagnated and even decreased, while full-time jobs are being replaced by part-time work waiting tables and delivering packages for online mega stores.
What’s more, a recent study of college graduates shows that those who entered the workforce during the great recession might never make the same wages as their peers who graduated just a few years earlier.
All told, the future looks bleak… That is, unless you happen to be an Obama donor.
That’s right. Even in the midst of a sluggish economy, Obama donors have been scoring incredible windfalls.
Crony Capitalism at its Finest
Take, for example, David Grain. According to Federal Election Commission reports, Grain gave $60,000 to Obama’s campaign and the DNC in 2008; and he gave $22,500 in 2012.
Grain has also been a lucrative fundraising partner for Obama. In 2008, Grain helped raise an additional $200,000 to $500,000 for Obama, according to a report in Bloomberg News.
And now, money is set to flow the other direction…
You see, Grain owns a private equity firm called Grain Management, LLC. that failed to qualify under existing rules as a small business for an upcoming Federal Communications Commission (FCC) airwave license auction.
Luckily for Grain, the FCC suspended the rules in a closed-door, party-line vote; and the Head of the FCC, Democrat Tom Wheeler, took the lead on a waiver to the action rules.
Republicans objected fiercely, but the final vote was 3 to 2. That means that when the auction is held, Grain Management will be designated as a small, struggling business by the FCC, in spite of its size. This will allow Grain to get exclusive discounts not otherwise available to major telecom firms.
The worst part is that Grain’s firm isn’t even a telecom company. Instead, it’s a private equity and financial firm that has no real interest in the airwaves other than flipping them for a massive profit.
Essentially, Grain’s Obama connection helped him manipulate the system and facilitate a lucrative arbitrage deal.
What Will the Future Hold?
Grain’s plan is a perfect example of how donors are able to profiteer off of the government. In the old days, donors were given perks such as an ambassadorship in Jamaica. But now, with the government virtually in control of the economy, the payoffs are far more lucrative.
And even though Grain Management will add no value to the transactions undertaken, David will most likely score a huge payday. It’s a perfect example of the crony capitalism that Americans detest.
Going forward, it’ll be interesting to see how much Grain makes from having such awesome inside connections with Obama.
Since the FCC controls “public airwaves,” we’ll be able to calculate how much Grain profits after the auction results. Likely, the final dollar amount will be many times what Grain paid to the DNC and Obama campaigns.
Once I know how much this shady deal nets, I’ll be sure to share the dollar amount with you.
What’s disgusting is how hypocritical Reid is… and even worse is his level of corruption. He has been linked to multiple situations involving bribes and undercover deals, and multiple ethics charges have been filed against him as well for targeting private citizens in his official capacity.
But he continues to lead the Democratic Senate majority… and apparently his party doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with that behavior.
Facebook Says Page Calling for Death to Jews Doesn’t Violate ‘Community Standards’
(Washington Examiner) – A Facebook page calling for the death of Israeli Jews does not violate the social network’s “community standards,” according to multiple messages sent by Facebook in response to user complaints.
The page in question, is named, “Death to zionst baby killer israeli jews.” The page, which spells “Zionist” incorrectly, features an Image of Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu as a vampire with blood dripping down his chin as he feasts on a child. It was started on July 25.
Individuals complaining about the page were greeted with the following message (screen captured below):
UPDATE: Facebook has since removed the page.

Harry Reid Linked to Massive Bribery Case
It seems like every day we find out something else awful Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has done. His tenure as Majority Leader has been nothing short of catastrophic, and the rule changes he imposed upon the Senate may render the legislative body incapable of ever returning to functionality. And he wants to change even more rules.
Sarah Palin challenges Washington Post ‘wusses’: Investigate Obama like you did Nixon
My Challenge to the Washington Post
To reclaim your credibility (and the mainstream media’s, at large), I challenge you to engage in the same aggressive investigative journalism you courageously employed 42 years ago covering President Nixon. The public knows of our current president’s incompetence, denials, and cover-ups, but would be well served if we could count on your resources to dig deep for truth in all matters pertaining to Team Obama.
One example: your reporters kept tracking an obscure break-in story and that led to revealing a grave problem in the White House. The Washington Post’s reputation soared as the model of good journalism. Today, you’ve fallen like a lead balloon. Whereas you once doggedly covered the 18.5 minute gap in Nixon’s White House communications, you’ve virtually ignored the Obama Administration’s 1.2 million minutes of deleted communications by just one of the agencies under Obama’s executive branch. I’m speaking of the Lois Lerner IRS harassment-of-conservatives scandal wherein Lerner “lost” pertinent email communications. You’ve allowed Obama to skate with his proclamation that absolutely no wrongdoing occurred at the IRS, “not even a smidgen.”
The list of Obama abuses and impeachable offenses is long. I challenge you to lift a finger and help protect democracy, allow justice for all, and ensure domestic tranquility by doing your job reporting current corrupt events fairly. If not, you prove yourselves incompetent and in bed with Obama, not caring one iota about media integrity.
Those running the Washington Post’s show now, compared to those during the Nixon era, are too afraid of being uninvited to the permanent political class’ cocktail parties and petty gossip fests, making you all a bunch of wusses. I challenge you to get to work.

On Friday last week, Sec. Kerry reportedly presented Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a draft proposal calling for a seven-day halt of fighting in Gaza, where more than 1,000 Palestinians — mostly civilians — have been killed in the last month; in that same span, the Israeli Defense Forces have suffered nearly 50 deaths but have continued an onslaught that the United National Security Council formally opposed early Monday.
The “Framework for Humanitarian Cease-Fire in Gaza” presented by Kerry failed to impress Netanyahu’s office, however, and Israel has since embarked on a campaign to condemn the secretary of state’s efforts by saying the US proposal did not do enough to stop Palestinian militants with the group Hamas from furthering its own, comparatively less successful campaign against the IDF.
According to Barak Ravid, a correspondent for Israel’s Haaretz newspaper, the draft “shocked” local politicians because it “placed Israel and Hamas on the same level.” Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livini told JTA the proposal was “completely unacceptable” and “would strengthen extremists in the region,” and other officials reportedly considered agreeing to the terms a “surrender” to Hamas. The Times of Israel wrote that “Kerry’s mistakes are embarrassing,” and on Monday a new column in Haaretz accusied Kerry of “ruin[ing] everything” and warned “Very senior officials in Jerusalem described the proposal that Kerry put on the table as a 'strategic terrorist attack.’”
In response, the Associated Press reported Monday afternoon that US officials say their relationship with Israel could be put in jeopardy if criticism of the secretary continues to emerge from one of America’s most closely held allies. Unnamed officials, the AP reported, “said the personal attacks on Kerry crossed a line and were particularly disappointing at a time of active conflict.”
And even after both Hamas and Israel agreed to put a hold on fighting briefly over the weekend, experts fear a prolonged end is a faint possibility at best.
“There is nothing to suggest that either side is particularly desperate for a cease-fire,” Robert Danin, a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a former State Department official, told the New York Times this week. “Neither side believes a cease-fire will be the end of the conflict, and they are looking at a truce as a way to position themselves for the next round of fighting.”
Following urging from the UN early Monday to halt the killings, Netanyahu fired back by accusing the international body of siding with Hamas, “a murderous terrorist group that attacks Israeli civilians.”
"It's a matter of their political will. They have to show their humanity as leaders, both Israeli and Palestinian," responded UN Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon, according to Reuters. "Why these leaders are making their people to be killed by others? It's not responsible, (it's) morally wrong."
Meanwhile, Palestinian leaders are reportedly not too keen on the American statesman at the moment either. A senior Palestinian Authority official and an Israeli counterpart apparently mocked Kerry’s proposal during a weekend phone call, the Times of Israel reported, and an unnamed PA official told the Saudi-owned Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that Kerry’s plan would "destroy the Egyptian bid" for a ceasefire — the groundwork of which was used for the State Dept.’s own draft proposal.

CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER CONDEMNS OBAMA, WEST FOR NOT SUPPORTING ISRAEL
In a stunning rebuke of President Obama’s tepid calls for Israel to show “restraint” in response to daily rocket fire on Israeli civilian targets by Hamas terror redoubts in Gaza, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, long considered Israel’s best friend and strongest defender, all but condemned President Obama by name for what he regards as Washington’s irresolute support for Israel during its time of grave crisis.
In perhaps his most strongly worded statement to date, Prime Minister Harper proclaimed that self defense is “not merely an Israeli right” to be exercised only in the abstract, but an “Israeli obligation” that must be defended by all Western nations.
“Failure by the international community to condemn these reprehensible actions will encourage these terrorists to continue their appalling actions,’’ Harper said in a rare Sunday statement. “Canada calls on its allies and partners to recognize that these terrorist acts [by Hamas] are unacceptable and that solidarity with Israel is the best way of stopping the conflict.”
Forget about the U.S.-Israel relationship being the bulwark of Israeli security, say some. Israel’s best friend and staunchest defender is no longer found in Washington, but rather in Ottawa.
Ending the war does not require Israeli “restraint,” implies Harper. It demands the world declare that sole responsibility for the terror of violence belongs with the terrorists. It is Hamas, claims Harper, that is entirely responsible for the current Israel-Hamas war. “It is evident,” Harper asserts, “that Hamas is deliberately using human shields to further terror in the region,’’ and he takes several swipes at the United Nations and the “international community” for calling for Israeli restraint in the face of escalating rocket fire aimed at murdering and maiming Israeli civilians.
“Canada mourns the death and suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza. Responsibility rests solely with Hamas and its allies, who launched and continue to feed this crisis,’’ he said.
Harper rejects outright calls coming from both the White House and the UN that Israel agree to a negotiated ceasefire with Hamas. Not only should Israel not agree to a ceasefire, says Harper, Israel should continue her offensive until the Iranian-backed terror group is “massively degraded,” if not eliminated entirely. “Indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza on Israel are terrorist acts, for which there is no justification.”
Next to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has clearly emerged as Israel’s strongest and most unapologetic defender.
Speaking for Prime Minister Harper and Canada’s government, Foreign Minister Baird vocalizes things that Israel supporters no longer even fantasize about hearing from Washington, such as, “There is no moral equivalency between a democratic state and a terrorist organization” and that “Hamas militants hiding within its civilian population is abominable.”
Egypt is publicly supporting Israel and hoping they will “destroy Hamas once and for all”
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi has thus far turned down appeals from Palestinians and other Arabs to work toward achieving a new ceasefire between Israel and Hamas
* Over the past week there are voices coming out of Egypt and some Arab countries — voices that publicly support the Israeli military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
* They see the atrocities and massacres committed by Islamists on a daily basis in Iraq and Syria and are beginning to ask themselves if these serve the interests of the Arabs and Muslims.
* “Thank you Netanyahu and may God give us more [people] like you to destroy Hamas!” — Azza Sami of the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram.
* Isolated and under attack, Hamas now realizes that it has lost the sympathy of many Egyptians and Arabs.
Gatestone Palestinian Authority [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Sisi and urged him to intervene to achieve an “immediate ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas. Abbas later admitted that his appeal to Sisi and (other Arab leaders) had fallen on deaf ears. Sisi’s decision not to intervene in the current crisis did not come as a surprise. In fact, Sisi and many Egyptians seem to be delighted that Hamas is being badly hurt.
Some Egyptians are even openly expressing hope that Israel will completely destroy Hamas, which they regard as the “armed branch of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization.” Sisi’s Egypt has not forgiven Hamas for its alliance with Muslim Brotherhood and its involvement in terrorist attacks against Egyptian civilians and soldiers over the past year.
US threatens relations with Israel could worsen over Kerry criticism
United States Secretary of State John Kerry has attracted the ire of Israel following his latest failed attempt to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, and American officials are warning that a wider rift in relations could come with serious repercussions.

Iran Says The End Of Israel Has Arrived As Obama Gives Them $2.8B In Sanction Relief
Iran says ‘the end of the Zionist regime of Israel has arrived’
“Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.” Psalm 129:5
The deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards
vowed revenge against Israel for its ongoing military incursion into
Gaza, which has already killed hundreds of Palestinians and dozens of
Israelis. The regime has been awarded $2.8 billion in sanctions relief by the Obama administration
in return for an agreement on a four-month extension to the Geneva
talks in finding a peaceful solution to its illegitimate nuclear program.
“You [people of Israel] are trees without any roots which were planted in the Islamic lands by the British,” Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami said at this week’s Friday prayer sermon in Tehran, Fars News Agency reported.
That statement referred to the Balfour Declaration, which led to the
dismantling of the Ottoman Empire after World War I and the eventual
creation of the state Israel in 1948.
“We will chase you house to house and will take revenge for every drop of blood of our martyrs in Palestine,” Salami said. “and this is the beginning point of Islamic nations awakening for your defeat.”
The deputy commander promised that Palestine will no longer remain calm
and cited a statement by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of
the Islamic regime: “Imam [Khomeini] with the statement that Israel must
be wiped from the face of the Earth gave a true message to the world.
This message enlightened the Muslims and became the concept on the
streets of Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.”
Salami, recalling previous wars Israel fought against Hezbollah in Lebanon, said: “The end of the Zionist regime [Israel] has arrived. Islamic movements are armed, missiles are positioned, and today we witness how the arms of the resistance in a corner of the Islamic world are controlling the events in the face of the tragic and barbaric attack by the Zionist regime against the oppressed and defenseless Palestinians in Gaza.”
Salami blamed the U.S. and England for
Israel’s policies and activities in the region and stated, “The balance
of power will change to the benefit of the Islamic world, and we warn
the Zionists that you are a rootless society with no land, no race, no
history and no element which constitute a nation. Today, no place in the occupied land is safe for the Zionists … today the missiles of the Palestinian resistance cover much farther than the Zionists expected.
Last Thursday, a mob of more than a dozen men assaulted a Jew in his suburban Paris home who had been identified through a French Facebook page that listed the faces and identities of Jews to be attacked. The social network declined to remove the page until after the assault had taken place.
UPDATE: Facebook has since removed the page.

This is a few months old, but may shed some light on President Obama’s current views and policies regarding Gaza/Hamas. Enjoy.
By Walid Shoebat and Ben Barrack
While in Sanaa, Yemein in 2010, President Barack Obama’s brother Malik Obama was at an event billed as the Orphans Development Fund (ODF) Conference. It’s quite the ironic title considering a group photo Malik is in that he has posted to his website. In the photo, he can be seen wearing a Hamas scarf (keffiyeh) that bears a well-known Palestinian slogan – ‘Jerusalem is ours – WE ARE COMING!’ It also includes a map of Palestine that says, ‘From the River to the Sea!’ In other words, Malik is saying, THERE IS NO ISRAEL.
…
Malik reads and speaks fluent Arabic as do many in his family, like cousin Musa Ismail Obama and uncle Sayyid, who’ve been to at least one prominent Wahhabist university in Saudi Arabia. Barack recited the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer with a ‘first-rate accent’ according to the New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof.
